A Borderlands 3-inspired gaming rig has made an appearance at a recent reveal event for the latest entry in the famed series from Gearbox Software. “Red” has been the theme chosen for the customized desktop PC, with two top-tier components from AMD being selected to power the computer. For a start, there is a Pinnacle Ridge processor in the form of the 8-core Ryzen 7 2700X that offers a boost rate of up to 4.3 GHz. What other graphics card could have been chosen to go along with that CPU more than the Radeon VII?
Joining the AMD CPU and GPU, which are installed on an X470 Master SLI/AC motherboard from ASRock, is 16 GB of speedy GSKILL TridentZ 3200 MHz RAM. Two SSDs are present in the custom Borderlands 3 rig: Western Digital Black 500 GB and 1 TB NVMe solutions. An additional 1 TB storage is provided by a Western Digital Blue HDD that spins at 7200 RPM. The components are encased in a Xidax Leviathan (based on Lian Li PC-011) tower.
Power is provided by an 850 W Seasonic Focus Plus Gold and there is plenty of RGB lighting and the necessary efficient cooling system to keep things ticking over. Borderlands 3 is scheduled for release on 13 September, so AMD fans have plenty of time still to try to emulate this impressive rig for their own Vault Hunting requirements.
