Randy Pitchford caused controversy after suggesting buyers should be willing to pay $80 for Borderlands 4. However, gamers now know that the Standard Edition will cost a more conventional $69.99. 2K and Gearbox Software just announced that Borderlands 4 pre-order sales have begun. PS5, Xbox, and PC players can choose from three different versions before the game's September 12th release date. Neither the Standard, Deluxe, nor Super Deluxe editions will offer early access.
The Standard Edition for the RPG shooter includes only the base game. Still, anyone who reserves a Borderlands 4 pre-order will receive the Gilded Glory Pack. This content will consist of skins for a Vault Hunter, a weapon, and the ECHO-4 Drone. Console gamers can purchase the least expensive option from the official Xbox and PlayStation stores or retailers. PC users can order Borderlands 4 from Steam or Epic Games Store.
For $99.99, the main attraction of the Deluxe Edition is the Bounty Pack Bundle. Unfortunately, much of the DLC won't arrive until after the Borderlands 4 release date. Eventually, gamers will have access to new areas to explore, with additional missions to complete and bosses to fight. Vault Cards, new weapons, and various cosmetics are also part of the Deluxe Edition.
The priciest Super Deluxe Edition boasts the Vault Hunter Pack and will cost $129.99. Two story packs will allow gamers to control different characters with unique skills and play styles. Fresh story and side missions promise to keep fans engaged long after the game's debut. Finally, the Ornate Order Pack is jam-packed full of Vault Hunter skins, heads, and bodies.
2K also confirmed that Borderlands 4 will also be a Nintendo Switch 2 game with a more vague 2025 projected release.
