With the Borderlands 4 release date on September 12th, many fans are revisiting past entries in the looter shooter franchise. A new Humble Bundle deal includes all the mainline titles in the series, plus several spin-offs. The largest configuration features 8 Steam games that usually retail for $279. However, the bundle serves as a gateway to the full Borderlands experience for a minimum $16 donation.

Debuting in 2009, the original Borderlands established a successful formula for the sequels to follow. The franchise combines RPG-style skill trees and leveling with the furious action of shooter games. Players take control of Vault Hunters, who each have unique personalities and abilities. A procedure-based loot system where players earn an endless variety of weapons and gear adds to its replay value.

The second major component in the Humble Bundle is Borderlands 2. While it adds more maps, weapons, characters, and skills, many gamers believe it has the most compelling narrative. In particular, Handsome Jack is a beloved villain who rules over the planet Pandora.

Tiny Tina's Wonderland: Chaotic Great Edition centers around a 13-year-old character from Borderlands 2 with a talent for explosives. While it's another action-RPG looter shooter, the game takes place in a medieval setting. This version also includes DLC from the Season Pass for a fraction of its original cost.

Most Steam games in the Humble Bundle also work with Valve's handheld. Borderlands 2 VR is the obvious exception to Steam Deck compatibility. Still, the bundle might be tempting to VR fans, since severe discounts for the title are unusual.
