Almost a month has passed since we last heard from Anbernic. Having returned to its previous release cadence after taking a break at the start of the year, the company then unleashed the RG35XX Pro and RG Slide within a fortnight of each other last month.
Now, Anbernic has turned its attention to a new option, just as we thought the company was going to let July pass it by. This time, Anbernic has officially revealed the RG477M with what it describes as featuring 'CNC technology'.
In that sense, the RG477M is similar to the RG353M and RG405M (curr. $169 on Amazon), which both featured metal shells. However, Anbernic is expected to have included hardware improvements in various areas.
On the one hand, the RG477M is anticipated to feature the 4.7-inch display from the RG Slide. An IPS panel, the display should output natively at 1,280 x 960 pixels in a 4:3 aspect ratio with a 120 Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the device is rumoured to contain a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset borrowed from the RG557. At this stage, we would not rule out Anbernic opting for the Unisoc T820 from the RG Slide, though.
