Ayaneo has revealed more details about its Flip 1S gaming handheld. Previously, the company had implied that it would only be offering its latest clamshell in a single dual-screen variant. However, it has now confirmed that a second variant with a physical keyboard will also be available.
In a blog post, Ayaneo reports that the Flip 1S KB retains its predecessor's keyboard layout, albeit with several changes. For instance, it seems that the keys are slightly prouder than those on the Flip KB. On top of that, Ayaneo has confirmed that the Flip 1S KB has larger function keys to enhance the 'visual harmony and beauty' of the overall keyboard deck. The keyboard has been moved closer to the handheld's bottom edge this time around, too.
As far as we can tell, the Flip 1S DS and Flip 1S KB share the same AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU as other high-end gaming handhelds like the Ayaneo 3 and OneXFly F1 Pro (curr. $1,439 on Amazon). Currently, Ayaneo has hinted that both devices will be available 'at the end of June'. With that being said, Ayaneo has also suggested that pricing will not be revealed until an official press conference it has scheduled for early July. Regardless, you can now sign up for Ayaneo's Flip 1S Indiegogo campaign to receive more information when the company publishes it.
