RG Slide: Early impressions and full unboxing videos showcase new pocketable retro gaming handheld on eve of release
Anbernic has been teasing the RG Slide for a few weeks at this point. Amid its frequent teasers, the company also found time to release the RG35XX Pro too, which builds on the older RG35XX Plus (curr. $64.99 on Amazon) in a few areas. While Anbernic has not revealed when the RG Slide will be available yet, it looks like pre-orders could open as soon as next week.
For instance, the company has now posted a full unboxing video, which we have embedded below. Although Anbernic has not provided any indications in said video, it only offers up videos of this kind just before it releases a new device. To that end, Anbernic published an equivalent RG35XX Pro video the weekend before it started selling the handheld.
A few prominent YouTubers have been allowed to post early impressions videos, too. For instance, Russ from Retro Game Corps, forthenext and Retro Handhelds have already uploaded content covering the RG Slide extensively. Thus, we suspect it will not be long before Anbernic reveals how much the RG Slide costs and from when it will be available.
In the meantime, the YouTubers mentioned above have been impressed by the RG Slide's sliding mechanism despite the loud sound it emits when moving it back and forth. Moreover, the 4.7-inch display has drawn praise as well, thanks to its true 960p resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. Please see the videos below for more information.
