Anbernic has turned its attention back to the RG Slide, having released the RG35XX Pro yesterday. This time, the company has shared the former's first official promotional video, which we have embedded below. Not only does the video show an exploded view of its new gaming handheld, but it also confirms device specifications that emerged last week.
As those specifications suggested, Anbernic has effectively taken the guts of the RG Cube or RG556 (curr. $229 on Amazon) to create the RG Slide rather than the newer RG557. To that end, the RG Slide will launch by combining a Unisoc T820 chipset, 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage. While this hardware will make the RG Slide more powerful than many of Anbernic's recent releases, it will also see it fall far short of the RG557 in more challenging emulation tasks like PlayStation 2 or Nintendo Wii games.
Still, Anbernic's latest video confirms that the RG Slide features a small active cooling solution to prevent overheating and thermal throttling. Also, it shows 3.5 mm jack and USB Type-C connections positioned on the handheld's bottom edge with volume and power buttons on its right-hand side. Meanwhile, the RG Slide's two 'high fidelity' speakers will sit on either side of its 4.7-inch and 1,280 x 960-pixel IPS display. Please see Anbernic's video below for more details; there is no word yet on pricing or availability, though.
