Successful reboot. The "pre-Prey" from 2006 proved to be a genuine first-person shooter with its gravity components, which players long remembered. After discontinuing the originally planned Prey 2, the publisher Bethesda has announced a reorientation of the franchise in 2017. We checked the PC version's performance.

Deja Vu. To the casual observer, the Dell Latitude 12 5285 2-in-1 bears more than a passing resemblance to Microsoft's well-established Surface Pro 4. From the screen size to the overall dimensions and looks down to the accessories like the detachable keyboard and active stylus - the tablet/convertible is a spitting image on many, but not all levels.

Remake with a turbo-SSD. Acer issues a Kaby Lake upgrade for their slim TravelMate in an inconspicuous aluminum case. It is faster, and its battery runs for up to 14 hours. The 512 GB SSD storage is not only massive, but it is also extremely fast. With the rest of the equipment, like the IPS screen, a fast processor, the backlit keyboard and a three-year warranty, Acer holds up their established class.

Pumped up. Is premium getting even better? Nvidia’s current Pascal GPU didn’t make it into the new Surface Book but Microsoft managed to fit a Maxwell chip under the hood that should offer plenty of performance. Or does it?

Bigger, faster, louder. It's not often that a notebook gains weight and girth in successive generations. In this case, the new Alienware 17 R4 utilizes the extra space wisely for an overall stronger experience that more than makes up for the added mass.

Professional luxury. Dell’s well-regarded XPS 15 has a professional-grade counterpart in the Precision 5520. But can this ultrathin looker defy physics and keep up with the heavy demands of a mobile workstation?

High Resolution. In our recently published extensive test, the Lenovo ThinkPad T570 could mostly convince us. However, as in the previous generation, the Full HD display gave reason for complaint. In this test update, we will see whether the 4K-display variant can remedy the weakness of the more affordable configuration.

Entry-level update. Intel's Kaby Lake platform has been appearing on more and more notebooks, and now Lenovo has updated the ThinkPad 13 with the 7th Generation processors. Does the new platform bring enough of a performance increase to warrant an upgrade?

Solid as a rock. Dell´s robust 14-inch withstands dust, liquids, drops and heat. Not only does this laptop offer tough looks, but also potent hardware, lots of ports and a laudable stamina.

Not an epic tale. The new Samsung Odyssey could have knocked it out of the park. Instead, it is your average entry-level system with no standout features to separate it from the growing gaming crowd except for its horrendously loud fan noise.

Made to be robust! Dell has combined an 11.6-inch laptop with an energy-efficient CPU. According to the manufacturer, this combination should enable the notebook to survive an entire day at school. Searching for the Exceptional. We are taking the Asus FX553VD into our test regimen and evaluate if the FX553 lives up to Asus' motto "in search of incredible," or whether Asus has to continue to search. Compared to its sibling model which is equipped with a GTX 1060 at almost the same price, can the notebook collect enough positive arguments for a purchase?

Long-lasting. The 11.6-inch Latitude comes with a fast SSD, silently running system, and long battery life. Dell demands quite a high price for the laptop. Approximately 580 Euros (gross, ~$622) is due. The Windows 10 Pro operating system is a major reason for this price level.

Mobile companion. Lenovo's 13.3-inch laptop delivers good battery runtimes, a solid-state disk and a quiet system noise. It uses Windows 10 Pro as the operating system. The incorporated display is not convincing.

Without stamina. With the V510-15IKB, Lenovo offers a quiet 15.6-inch device for work. It is well equipped: Among others, it comes with a Kaby Lake processor, an SSD, Windows 10 Pro, and an IPS display. However, the battery runtimes are disappointing.

A sharper image… The latest Pavilion 15t to make the trip through our labs features all the same amenities of the previous configuration, but accompanied now instead by a higher-resolution display. Could this be what the Pavilion needed to earn top marks?

More compact. Lenovo has equipped its 15-inch business classic with a new case and offers an attractive package in many areas. However, there are still some performance bugs, and the Chinese manufacturer is still using a mediocre Full HD panel.

Limited fun. Actually, Acer's new multimedia laptop designed for gaming is convincing in most aspects - only that the conventional hard drive does not really match to the high-performance technology and it really slowed things down in the test. We recommend opting for another version or retrofitting it with an SSD.
