Controlled explosion. With convincing components and slim cases, the notebooks from Acer's new Aspire V Nitro-series are real all-rounders for discerning customers. Our Black Edition with the GeForce GTX 860M is targeted at gamers. Our review shows whether the performance, temperatures and maintainability can meet the expectations.

Promoted to business class. A premium-range laptop for corporate customers that relies on a processor from AMD - we haven't seen that for quite a while now. HP sees its new EliteBook product line as an affordable alternative for the seemingly omnipotent Intel competition without affecting the quality standard. Will this experiment be successful?

The business convertible. At a starting price of $1500, the Toshiba Z10t includes high-end hardware in a tablet form and competes directly against the Microsoft Surface models. This updated model includes mostly internal upgrades as we re-analyze the convertible's performance for the 2014 market.

Turn it around. The Asus Transformer Book Flip TP500LN looks like a normal 15.6-inch notebook, but it can be transformed into a tablet in just a few simple steps. So far, all convertibles of this size had to make compromises. Read the review to find out why this device is not completely free of them, either.

Touchscreen Office Notebook. Toshiba hopes this premium Tecra, with a 1080p matte screen and many of the typical amenities of a top-end business notebook, can entice those looking for a touch business computer that’s light and long on battery. Does it check all the boxes?

Quiet operator. HP's 15-g005ng is powered by AMD's new Beema APU. The Beema APUs should shrink Intel's market share in the budget sector. Is the APU's power sufficient for this scheme?

Kaveri for business. A price of approximately 900 Euros (~$1166) should make HP's newest 14-inch business laptop appealing. The company ships a slim, elegant casing fused with multiple business features and good input devices for this price. The laptop is powered by a new Kaveri APU from AMD. Unfortunately, the screen is again one of the biggest shortcomings, like in many other laptops.

Muscleman. Cooler Boost, Super RAID, Matrix Display: MSI uses many fancy words for the GT72. We took the brand-new gaming notebook to check the marketing slogans. Can the high-end machine compete with the rivals from Asus, Alienware and Clevo?

Between worlds. The new HP Split x2 does not require a choice between a tablet and a notebook since the convertible combines both types of devices. Besides an IPS display, the convertible attracts attention with very good battery runtimes as well as decent input devices.

Multimedia endurance machine. Technically Toshiba has done a great job with this laptop and its runtime endurance places it in the top rankings in the category comparison. Our in-depth report reveals whether the casing, input devices, screen, and general performance can match that.

Value for money marvel with an AMD core? For a low 370 Euros (~$479), Lenovo's G50-45 entry-level model has quite a few highlights: a quad-core APU and a hybrid hard drive are real buying incentives in this category. But is that enough to compete with rivals based on Intel technology?

A round bundle. A slim aluminum casing plus a Core i7 processor and Full HD screen equal a 14-inch laptop from Dell. The bundle is rounded off with very good battery runtimes. Has Dell created a strong device?

Low in contrast. Gaming-suitable laptops no longer have to be a costly affair these days. Asus also follows this trend with its X555LN. For 500 Euros (~$646), the buyer gets a 15.6-inch device with a Core i5 processor and GeForce 840M graphics core. The price is even below 500 Euros (~$646) without a Windows operating system.

Let's play again. About a year ago we took a look at the Acer Aspire V3-772G and came away impressed with its performance. This time around, we'll examine the latest model in the series and check to see what else is new besides an updated graphics card.

Affordable all-rounder. HP demands 500 Euros (~$647) for its all-round Pavilion 15 laptop. The buyer gets a Full HD screen alongside a GeForce 840M GPU, and a Core i5 processor. Can you really go wrong with this device at this price?

Jealous? The HP Envy 15-u001ng wants to make other convertible users jealous with its 360-degree hinge and the metal case. Read our review to find out why this is probably not going to happen.

Robust. The Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme feels at home even in the most adverse environments. The convertible has a robust case, combined with a strong processor and good input devices. But at the price Dell is asking, buyers will certainly have to pay for what they get.

Big brother. Is bigger also better in this case? Our comparison review will uncover this with respect to old problem areas such as the display. The 15.6-inch model achieved consistently strong results in our previous review. We expected the same from this device, when we started the test.

Quiet with stamina. The 11.6-inch Aspire V3-111P notebook delivers a quad-core processor, a very good keyboard and a very long battery life. So, the small computer is ideal as a mobile typewriter that has lots of stamina.

Slimmer is better. With 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage the Toshiba Encore 2 WT8 cutting a fine line between tablet and Windows PC. It's targeted as a very low-cost solution for the consumer space and from the outside it looks good. But does it perform well enough for the price?

Character actor. While most notebook companies rely at most on the GeForce GTX 870M for their 15-inch department, Gigabyte uses Nvidia's top model for the P25X v2. Also the other features (Blu-ray burner, mSATA-SSDs...) clearly point to a high-end product. In this review you will see whether the device is worth its 2,000 Euros (~$2627).

Affordable endurance machine. The hunt for a low-priced and, at the same time, long-lasting office machine has come to an end. The Extensa 2510 not only has long battery runtimes to offer but also brings along a good keyboard and matte screen. The bundle is available for just over 400 Euros (~$525).

The agony of choice. After our first review of the FHD version of the new Lenovo Y50 Gaming notebook, we are now focusing on a version with UHD display (3840x2160 pixels) and fast Samsung SSD. Full HD and matte or ultra HD and glossy? That's the question. We compare both displays.

Retina by Fujitsu. The big eye-catcher of the Fujitsu tablet is the high-resolution and razor-sharp display (2560x1600 pixels). Furthermore, you get a stylus pen, security and business features as well as an LTE modem. Is this the perfect business tablet?

Entry-level portable gaming. While Lenovo's Y40 clearly isn't the best choice for hardcore gamers, there's no question that the sleek 14-inch system with its current-generation i7 Haswell CPU, dedicated Radeon GPU and 256 GB SSD has plenty to offer for its $850 asking price, even though the display doesn't quite measure up.

A good idea? Lenovo want their IdeaPad G50-70 to be a tempting, low-cost notebook with at least basic gaming power. Equipped with a dedicated graphics card, our test device certainly could be just that. But is the Radeon R5 230M the right graphics card for the task? Read on to find out.

Smart business idea? HP is not the first manufacturer to bring a slim 10-inch tablet onto the business market - but never before has this concept been realized that consistently: for around 1,000 Euros (~$1319), the buyer not only get Intel's fastest Atom processor, including 4 GB RAM and 64-bit operating system, but also an integrated LTE module as well as different safety features.
