Lenovo has announced that it will be refreshing a few of its different products today, and the Z41 and Z51 laptops are getting a lot of new features and upgrades. The Z laptops have been focused on both entertainment and productivity. The notebooks have a lot of configuration options, and can sport a 5th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to a 1 TB SSHD, and AMD discrete graphics. The base models, however, come with integrated Intel graphics.
The Z41 has a 14 inch 1920x1080 display and the Z51 has a slightly larger 15 inch display with the same resolution. Weighing in at 4.63 and 5.07 pounds respectively, and with a height of about 0.96 inches, the Z line of laptops are not quite as portable as a lot of other laptops on the market. The 4 hour battery life also makes them less convenient for on-the-go use, but the powerful processor and graphics may be worth the trade-off for some.
For video chatting, a 1 MP webcam comes standard, and an optional 3D camera upgrade can be purchased for the Z51. A key feature for the laptops according to Lenovo is that they will have up to 3 times the internet speed of other laptops due to advanced 802.11 a/c WiFi technology, helping to further increase the performance capabilities. Though the Z41 and Z51 are not the most portable laptops around, they offer a lot of processing power and graphical performance. Pricing starts at $499.
