The Intel Arc Graphics 140V is a pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8 iGPU; it has 8 Xe² architecture "cores" running at up to 2,050 MHz and 8 ray tracing units at its disposal.

DirectX 12 Ultimate is fully supported here and the iGPU also supports hardware-decoding a long list of popular video codecs such as h.266 VVC, h.265 HEVC, h.264 AVC, AV1 and VP9. It can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1.

Just like it was with Meteor Lake, Intel taps its Foveros technology to build Lunar Lake chips meaning the iGPU and the CPU cores are found on different dies stacked on top of each other or next to each other.

Performance

With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings or higher. In our September 2024 testing, we got well over 30 fps in Ghost of Tsushima and almost 40 fps in Baldur's Gate 3. This means the Radeon 780M gets left behind while the Radeon 890M reigns supreme.

Power consumption

Lunar Lake processors' power consumption figures are relatively modest at around 20 W to 30 W, with up to about a half of that getting consumed by the integrated GPU.

AMD Radeon 880M

The Radeon 880M is a fairly powerful RDNA 3.5 architecture iGPU that debuted in June 2024 and a direct successor to the Radeon 780M. It packs just a few differences under the hood, such as faster caches; its 12 CUs/WGPs (768 unified shaders) run at up to 2,900 MHz.

DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI image generation and other modern features are all supported here, as are many popular video codecs including first and foremost AVC, HEVC, VP9 and AV1. The latest addition to that list, the VVC codec, is not HW-supported unlike it is with Intel Lunar Lake chips. Miracast and FreeSync support is present. The iGPU can drive up to 4 monitors simultaneously with resolutions as high as SUHD 4320p60.

RDNA 3.5-based GPUs are projected to be fully supported by AMD until some time in 2027.

Performance

With well over 30 fps in both Once Human and The First Descendant (1080p - Low), this iGPU is certainly fast enough for a fair bit of casual as well as competitive gaming.

Power consumption

Strix Point chips are a single-die design, meaning the iGPU is built with the same TSMC N4P process as the CPU cores for above average, as of late 2024, power efficiency.

The 880M delivers almost as much performance as an entry-level desktop graphics card while consuming just 10 W to 20 W of juice.

The Intel Arc Graphics 130V is an integrated graphics adapter that lower-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 7 iGPU; it has 7 Xe² architecture "cores" running at up to 1,850 MHz and 7 ray tracing units at its disposal.

DirectX 12 Ultimate is fully supported here and the iGPU also supports hardware-decoding a long list of popular video codecs such as h.266 VVC, h.265 HEVC, h.264 AVC, AV1 and VP9. It can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1.

Performance

Its performance can be vastly different depending on which benchmarks and games one runs. Oftentimes, it isn't much faster than its direct predecessor, the Arc 7. It is clear the 130V isn't fast enough to run most triple-A 2024 games at 1080p. However, it's still more than good enough for an occasional gaming session.

Power consumption
