Old book, new page. Huawei's all-aluminum 15.6-inch MateBook D gets Kaby Lake-R hardware and GeForce MX150 graphics. How does the multimedia notebook compare to its otherwise identical predecessor and did Huawei do enough to differentiate the MateBook D from the stiff competition in this segment?

Can't take the heat. The Precision 3530 is the latest entry-level workstation from Dell. Powered by an Nvidia Quadro P600 and a new Xeon CPU from Intel, the Precision 3530 is a capable machine. Heat management and fan noise leave quite a bit to be desired, however.

Size matters. Lenovo’s 15-inch isn’t quite up to par with its smaller business offerings, but perhaps today’s configuration—a Core i7-8650U, 16 GB RAM, FHD anti-glare touch display, and NVMe SSD—can help to bridge the gap. We’ll find out in our full review!

Heavy Metal by AMD! AMD has released its new generation of Threadripper APUs following the successful launch of its second-generation Ryzen desktop APUs. The new Threadripper series not only makes incremental improvements over the last generation but also introduces Ryzen APUs with up to 32 cores and 64 threads. These new APUs are AMD’s shot at capturing the high-performance processor crown, something that will no doubt put pressure on Intel. We will be focusing on the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X in this review and establish whether this 16-core APU is worth the investment.

Disappointing display. The Lenovo Yoga 330-11IGM runs on a passively cooled Pentium Silver N5000 quad-core processor that performance-wise is on par with Broadwell Core i3s. The laptop is almost entirely silent and offers good battery life. However, Lenovo's choice of display proves to be a serious blunder.

Super featherweight. While many manufacturers compete as to who can create the smallest and thinnest laptop, the LG Gram series vows to be the lightest. The new LG Gram 15 weighs just over a kilogram (~2.2 pounds), which is one of the lightest 15-inch notebooks currently on the market. More power. Equipped with a 45 W Coffee Lake-H CPU and dedicated graphics, the Latitude 5591 is a more potent version of Dell's 15.6-inch mid-range Latitude 5590. The performance is up significantly, but surface temperature and noise level have increased as well.

Hexa-core for business. Dell's mid-range Latitude 5000 series gets the Coffee Lake-H treatment and dedicated graphics as well. The new 14-inch model with 45 W processor and GeForce graphics outperforms the sibling with ULV processor, but the additional power draw creates more heat and shortens battery life. The display remains less than impressive.

Multi-talented. Acer's 15.6-inch all-rounder is equipped with a quad-core processor, an IPS display and a GPU with enough performance power to render current games – and more. Even with its high-performance hardware, it offers a long battery life. Update: 4K SKU with 100 % sRGB

Classic tablet PC. Fujitsu's flagship tablet, the Stylistic Q738, allegedly offers the best possible convertible experience. With business features, like a smart card reader and a stable plug-in keyboard, the device is primarily intended for customers in the business sector. Very good disappointment. AMD Ryzen, mostly known for offering CPUs for consumer products, now want to compete with Intel in the business market. 2-in-1 all-rounder. With the Yoga 730-15IKB, Lenovo delivers a 15.6-inch convertible that is suitable for gaming and for consuming media content. The device scores some major points with its slick metal case, backlit keyboard and a Thunderbolt 3 port. The touchscreen can be operated with the fingers and also with the included stylus. Update: FHD model with a better price-performance ratio.

Bikram Yoga. The ThinkPad X380 Yoga steps back into the limelight, this time with a less powerful processor. Despite the reduction in clock speed, the i5 variant still sweats under pressure. This and other small shortcomings make for a good package with some small flaws.
