Half-baked. Dell's 14-inch laptop shines with decent or even good battery life, an NVMe SSD and a powerful Ice Lake Core i7 processor. The dedicated GeForce MX230 graphics chip is only able to access its performance potential for a short amount of time due to thermal constraints. Thus, it is not really suitable for gaming.

Fins, not fans. The ThinkCentre M90n Nano IoT is a fanless variant of Lenovo's newest mini PC. While the rugged build is solid and the device is completely silent, performance leaves something to be desired, especially given the price.

Low-cost office. Lenovo's 15.6-incher scores with its fast SSD, quiet fan and low temperatures. Its display and battery life are weak points, in our opinion. The laptop will not burn much of a hole in your pocket at around 300 Euros (~$334), though.

Performance-degrading transformation. The dedicated graphics chip is gone without replacement, 4K UHD is no longer an option and there is no Thunderbolt 3 anymore, either: At first glance, the Lenovo Yoga C740-15IML appears to be a clear downgrade compared to its predecessor. While this holds true for some aspects of the convertible, other areas have seen some improvements. Unfortunately, our test model suffers from a very dimly lit display. Microsoft's fastest configuration. We all know that Intel's Core i7 Ice Lake can outperform the cheaper AMD Zen+ Ryzen 5. The real questions are how much of a performance boost can users expect and if the advantages are worth the price premium.

Exceptional gaming machine. The hardware of the Zephyrus S GX701GXR runs all current games smoothly on the matte 300 Hz IPS display. The laptop offers expansion/upgrade possibilities only to a very limited extent.

High TDP with Ryzen 5 3550H. While the Lenovo IdeaPad S540 does not take any new steps when it comes to the design, it is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 5 3550H, which is supposed to offer better long-term performance. Combined with a big battery, the 13.3-inch laptop looks like a promising companion for longer work days. In this review, we will determine what else the small bundle of energy is capable of.
