Asus VivoBook S14 S433FL: When laptops become a part of your lifestyle
Users who want to use their laptop for as many use cases as possible are often faced with a flood of features that they have to weigh up against each other. Not only does the price play a role, but the graphics performance, the memory configuration, and last but not least, the CPU performance must be taken into account too.
The Asus VivoBook S14 S433FL offers a good compromise here, which covers a multitude of scenarios. Thanks to a good battery life, the 14-inch laptop is mobile; the aluminum case makes it robust, and the matte screen provides good contrast and a very low black value.
The compromises are reasonable
In the best possible configuration with the Intel Core i7-10510U CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU, the VivoBook S14 is not only suitable for office applications but also lends itself to image and video-editing. Gaming is also possible even if at a somewhat lower level. In principle, the same assessment applies to the slightly cheaper version with the Core i5-10210U and 8 GB of RAM.
For the price of around 1,100 Euros (~$1,268), only the microSD card reader and the keyboard, which is a bit too soft, leave something to be desired. The matte display isn't particularly bright, but it can even be read outdoors in places in the shade. The only thing left to mention is the quiet coil whine, which kicks in when the power adapter is plugged in, and depending on the user, it will be more or less of an important factor in the purchase decision.
