Huawei has launched two new tablets in its home market of China. Called the Enjoy Tablet 2 and MatePad 10.8, the tablets feature the Kirin 710A and Kirin 990 chipsets respectively. Both devices will run EMUI 10.1 out of the box, but the MatePad 10.8 is the more premium of the two tablets.

Qualcomm posts its third-quarter fiscal performance for 2020

Qualcomm has announced that its third fiscal quarter of 2020 (3FQ2020, which ended on June 28 of this year) ended with a total of US$4.89 billion in revenue. It also reported $848 million in pre-tax profits, and paying $0.74 per share in dividends. However, it also already projects that, thanks to a new deal with Huawei, 4FQ2020 will turn out much better.

Microsoft has confirmed, albeit indirectly, that its eagerly anticipated dual-screen Surface Neo has been delayed. Following a blog post that indicated Windows 10X would debut first on single-screen devices, it became clear that plans for Windows 10X for dual-screen devices would be pushed back. However, it was only in the past day or so that Microsoft removed the “Coming Holiday 2020” timeline from the device’s webpage.

Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Tab S7 series in just over a week, but the full spec sheet for both the Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus has been unveiled. The latest leak about Samsung's premium tablets confirms that the smaller model will have an LTPS TFT display, while the Plus model will sport an AMOLED panel. Both tablets will have a Snapdragon 865 chipset and 6 GB of RAM and will be available with optional 5G.

A new patent filed by Apple details a stylus, likely an Apple Pencil, that contains an embedded color sensor. Located in either the back end or tip of the Pencil, the color sensor would be able to scan and copy the color from real-world objects. While the patent looks interesting, it is not yet known whether or not Apple will actually use it in future products.

These events are apparently tied to proceedings related to antitrust practices. Their attendance has been confirmed by a member of this body representing the state of Rhode Island.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7: Geekbench confirms Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 8 GB of RAM for Q3 2020-bound tablet

Geekbench has seemingly confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and 8 GB of RAM. The Galaxy Tab S7 is thought to be launching next month with a 7,760 mAh battery and alongside the Galaxy Note20 series.

CutiePi Raspberry Pi tablet finally hits Kickstarter

The project was slightly delayed by the pandemic, but it is now up on Kickstarter offering the tablet for just under US$200, along with a microSD card and cables for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 3+ Lite. The tablet itself integrates an 8-inch IPS touchscreen with 1280 x 800 resolution and even features an attachable handle that acts as a stand.

Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the next iPad will launch later in 2020

The eminent TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest round of Apple predictions include a rough launch date for an upcoming iPad with a 10.8-inch display. They also allude to another tablet of this series that would involve a re-imagining of the Mini variant for 2021. Both of them may get the OEM's rumored new 20 watt (W) power brick in the box.
