Processor-blowhard with flaws. The Envy 17 scores in CPU matters owing to Intel's i7-4700QM quad-core, and it also displays pictures on a matte Full HD screen. But just how well does the laptop fare in our in-depth test report?

Two times the fun. The pricey but well-received Envy x2 has prompted HP to expand the x2 lineup for more budget-conscious buyers beginning with the Split x2. This newer model promises a larger display size and faster processor than the Envy x2. So, what's the catch?

Achilles' heel. The ThinkPad S440 is one of the newest ultrabooks from Lenovo: slim, powerful and enduring. With its current components, clever features and a matted multitouch display the Lenovo ultrabook might be able to put itself right at the top of the competition. We found out if it really does.

Powerhouse. Based on the barebones of the MSI GT70H, DevilTech offers a highly configurable, hellishly potent gaming machine. A number of CPUs ranging from the Intel Core i7-4700MQ to the insanely powerful Core i7-4930XM in combination with a GeForce GTX 770M or a GTX 780M should be more than enough to stir any gamer's blood.

Triumphant successor. Acer tries to combine the features of long battery life, low energy consumption and high performance. The company offers a very interesting hardware combination for this purpose: A ULV chip together with a mid-range GPU, at a total price of 600 Euros (~$803).

Big screen tablet. Smartphones are growing so browsing and gaming becomes more pleasant. Tablets are growing so we can work more productively and performantly. Is Asus heading in the right direction?

Hot machine. One presents a gaming notebook with a Core i7 based on Intel's latest Haswell architecture, a powerful Nvidia GPU and a 13.3-inch Full HD display. But can the small device handle the heat without sacrificing the performance? Find out in our in-depth review.

Office giant with stamina. Lenovo offers an inexpensive office notebook with the G700. Despite the good battery runtimes it is however not a very mobile device with its 17-inch display.

Night owl. Not even one year has passed between the release of Nokia's Lumia 920 and its successor, the Lumia 925. Supposedly, the already great camera has seen further improvements. In addition, Nokia's Windows Phone flagship has been slimmed down and equipped with an AMOLED screen. A simple facelift or an example of successful evolution?

Low-cost quad-core. Packard Bell installs the A4-5000 APU in a 17.3-inch laptop and demands less than 400 Euros (~$536) for it. That could add up to an energy-efficient, enduring office laptop or a sluggish, low-performance computer.

The CPU problem. Does a high-end graphics card suffer from a weak processor? Many gamers will have this question when they consider buying the GX70. Our review takes a closer look at the performance of the gaming device. Is MSI offering a well-balanced package and can the Radeon HD 8970M use its full potential?

Compact all-rounder. The Satellite S50 wants to be a high-performance all-round laptop for home usage. Toshiba installs a Haswell processor and a GeForce GPU in the laptop and completes the bundle with a high-capacity hard drive. Whether the computer is compelling is revealed in our test report.

Keyboard-tablet. The little Miix 10 wants to be a tool for devoted Windows users: the advantages of a tablet's mobility but without having to rethink operations. The manufacturer adds a keyboard-case in the box so that typing emails is normal routine. The competition cannot offer this for less than 500 Euros (~$666).

Caught in the middle. Lenovo chose AMD APU's Richland generation for the new G505s series. In addition, there is also a dedicated Radeon GPU in the notebooks so that the two graphic cores are working in a Crossfire connection. It sounds like Lenovo is offering a notebook for the economical gamer. Our test determines whether that is true or not.

An unequal duel? The times they are a-changin' for the chip industry: x86 in smartphones, ARM in a notebook - what seemed impossible just a few years ago is now a reality. Accordingly, we are comparing different SoCs made by Qualcomm, Nvidia and Mediatek with the x86-based competition from AMD and Intel.

Compact gaming notebook? A light, powerful and inexpensive office notebook is always interesting. The Aspire V5 is equipped with a frugal Intel Haswell processor and an IPS display to satisfy multimedia users. And if you prefer gaming on the go, you will be happy with the GeForce GT 750M graphics. Are we dealing with a gaming notebook in an Ultrabook-disguise?

A flood of smartphones and drizzling of tablets. Notebookcheck's test lab was in a frenzy this July. The fault rested wholly on the huge number of new smartphones, since not even a handful of tablets came on the market. And, like in May, Samsung sent a new product to the runway.

Refreshed. A touchscreen alongside Intel's latest Haswell CPUs should boost the appeal of Dell's refreshed Inspiron 15R. Outstanding battery runtimes and low emissions speak for the 15-incher. But can that compensate for the omitted dedicated graphics card?

Small, handy, whisper-quiet. Lenovo wants to make a small subnotebook (11.6 inches) with touchscreen tempting for the buyer. The white case is an eye-catcher and the technical configuration is decent. Let's see if the IdeaPad S210 can convince us.
