HP is taking some risks with its budget Pavilion series by toying with different aspect ratios and offering higher resolution displays approaching 2.5k. The manufacturer is even showing a preference for AMD instead of the usual Intel Core-U options.

Lenovo has expanded its Go series of remote-working tools with new power accessories, directed at use with freshly-launched ThinkPads in particular. They include a Wireless Charging Kit, designed to combine a laptop stand with up to 65 watts (W) of USB type-C power. There is also a new 10,000mAh power bank with Qi wireless charging from this line.

The new Executive model from Slimbook weighs 2.2 lbs (1 kg) and packs premium features like a 16:10 screen with 3K resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate plus an Intel Tiger Lake-U i7-1165G7 processor. It also includes a Thunderbolt 4 connector and users can add up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 and up to 4 TB of NVMe SSD storage.

Lenovo is at the (virtual) 2021 Mobile World Congress with the latest additions to its enterprise-grade lines of devices. They include new ThinkVision monitors, which come in new, 15.6 portable and 23.8-inch fixed versions. The former is pitched as a portable extension for a new ThinkPad, whereas the latter might also go with Lenovo's new dedicated web-cam.

Lenovo expands its AMD portfolio with two additional ThinkPad laptops: ThinkPad L13 Gen 2 and L13 Yoga Gen 2 are from the affordable ThinkPad L series. The Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga G2 is also the first ThinkPad Yoga convertible with AMD Ryzen 5000.

Lenovo has constructed its ThinkPad X1 Extreme new. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 is supposed to take on the Dell XPS series. It changes to the 16:10 aspect ratio, but with a different screen size compared to the Dell competitors. Lenovo also upgrades the GPUs to up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q.

Zen 4 is rumored to launch in late 2022, so later this year and in early 2022 we will be getting only refreshed Zen 3+ models. According to a new leak, the first products to integrate the 6 nm Zen 3+ tech will not be the desktop models with V-Cache or the Rembrandt chips for laptops, but the Ryzen embedded V3000 launching in late 2021. These processors will feature support for USB4, DDR5-4800 RAM, and will have a maximum 35-54 W TDP with integrated RDNA2 iGPU.

Samsung has followed up the launch of its recent Windows-powered Galaxy Book Go with the new Galaxy Chromebook Go. Ironically, perhaps, the new Chromebook Go is powered by an Intel chip instead of the Arm-based Snapdragon powering the Windows 10-based Galaxy Book Go.

The deal will supposedly last only until the end of Tuesday as a response to Amazon Prime Day. Though the specifications are superb for the sale price, the low 8 GB of RAM may still be a deal breaker for many.

Intel has announced the Core i5-11320H and Core i7-11390H, its latest pair of Tiger Lake-H35 series processors. The pair can boost up to 5.0 GHz, but early benchmark results show the Core i7-11390H only matching Core i7-1195G7 and the Core i7-11375H for performance.

The M1X Mac mini will apparently be joining the M1X MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 for release later this year according to a recent post by an “Apple analyst”. While the 2021 MacBook Pro laptops and M1X Mac mini will offer more CPU cores and more GPU cores for users, it will be a longer wait for those who want Apple Silicon in an iMac Pro.

Microsoft has all but officially confirmed that the leaked build of Windows 11 circulating the internet over the past few days is legitimate. The company has issued a copyright take-down notice via Google to Beebom, the site that has been dubiously hosting the leaked build.

In earlier years, the energy efficient "Ultra Low Voltage" CPUs of the U series hardly offered any performance, but manufacturers still packed them into workstation laptops. Samsung has been linked to a 15-inch version of its Notebook 7 that runs on Tiger Lake silicon and RTX 3050-series graphics for a few months now.
