ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED: Most powerful Zenbook yet debuts with an Intel Core i9-12900H, an RTX 3060 GPU and a 4K OLED display
ASUS has lifted the lid on the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, to which it has assigned the model number UX7602. According to the company, the Zenbook Pro 16X features a CNC-milled aluminium alloy chassis and a 16.9 mm chassis, within which it has a cooling system that can keep its fans to 40 dB in its standard performance mode. However, ASUS has managed to pack in some powerful hardware, not least its OLED display.
Specifically, the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED relies on the Core i9-12900H, a 14-core processor from Intel's Alder Lake family. For reference, the Core i9-12900H has 6 Performance and 8 Efficient cores, 24 MB of cache and a 5.0 GHz peak clock speed on its Performance cores. Moreover, ASUS equips the machine with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU with 6 GB of GDDR6 VRAM; there are no other GPU options available. Theoretically though, the GeForce RTX 3060 should handle most triple-A games well, as our benchmark database shows.
Furthermore, the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED has a 16-inch OLED display that operates at 3,840 x 2,400 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Additionally, the panel offers 550 nits of peak brightness, a 0.2 ms response time and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Accordingly, the display is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified and PANTONE verified, while ASUS boasts of a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Elsewhere, the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED has 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, quad speakers and the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm combo audio jack
- 1x DC-in
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x SD Express 7.0 card reader
- 2x Thunderbolt 4
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
The Zenbook Pro 16X OLED will be available from later this quarter. Presumably, ASUS means between now and June, although it would not confirm a specific release date. Either way, the machine will be available from €2,999 when it does arrive.
