Asus' Vivobook 13 Slate OLED and Marshmallow Mouse get new special Artist Editions
Asus asserts that it has unveiled "The Pinnacle of Performance" in the selection of new OLED ZenBooks and VivoBooks debuted for the European market today (May 9, 2022). The devices that have rounded out this showcase may also show that it has been the pinnacle of marking up as well.
The OEM has partnered with the creators Paul Colbert and Steven Harrington to present Artist Editions of the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED. The new SKUs were launched without mention of a change in terms of specs, meaning they are slated to launch with the same Pentium Silver N6000 platform and 4GB of RAM at most.
They do, however, come with extensive customization on the part of these creators, found on the case, cover/stand with an up to 170° opening angle, the keyboard dock, the "ultra-precise" Asus Pen 2.0 for use with the convertible's high-end 13.2 display and the fancy limited-edition box to house all of those complementary peripherals included.
The 2-in-1 and its accessories are thus covered with either signature Paul Colbert lobster characters (also found in the box as a combination action-figure/stylus-holder) or a greater range of smiley characters and bright designs in the case of the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Steven Harrington edition.
Asus has also revealed that there will be new versions of its wireless Mouse MD100 (also called the Marshmallow Mouse thanks to its symmetrical shape, light weight, "gamer-grade" PTFE feet and 800/1000/1600 DPI modes) to match, although these will be separate purchases.
The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Artist Editions will be released some time in the second quarter of 2022, at a price of €799 (as opposed to €699 in the standard version).
