DJI is just a day away from its 'A Twist in the Plot' hardware event, where it is expected to reveal the Mini 3 Pro. In the meantime, a YouTube channel called DM Productions has already got its hands on the drone, which Argos UK briefly listed on its website last month. Previously, DM Productions shared unboxing videos of the Mini 3 Pro, but they have since gone even further with a review of the RC controller and two flight videos.
According to DM Productions, the new RC remote controller does not support third-party applications. Instead, the controller only supports the DJI Fly app and the built-in settings menu. It is unclear why DJI would put this restriction in place, seeing as the RC Pro remote controller runs on Android. DM Productions has not discovered a brightness value of the new RC remote controller, although he states that he cannot determine any brightness difference between it and the RC Pro.
Separately, DM Productions has shown that the Mini 3 Pro can rotate its gimbal 90° downwards and 60° upwards, confirming earlier leaks. Incidentally, the YouTuber has showcased the Mini 3 Pro's capabilities at night, which appears to deliver decent low-light performance. Potentially, this could be because of the drone's new 48 MP camera, a 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/1.7 aperture.
Moreover, DM Productions highlights that the Mini 3 Pro is easier to see in flight than its predecessor because of DJI's new positioning lights. Based on the video below, it seems that the Mini 3 Pro even remains visible at night, which is handy. The Mini 3 Pro should be orderable from tomorrow and is rumoured to begin shipping on March 17.
