Asus Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED is official with a Core i7-1260p and 2.8K OLED display
Asus has taken the wraps off the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED, the company’s newest machine with a 360° hinge. The hinge allows the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED to serve both as a traditional laptop and as an expansive tablet. The Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED is made from a Magnesium-Aluminum alloy chassis that weighs only 1.1 Kg (2.42 lbs). The overall thickness of the device is also quite good coming in at 14.9 mm.
For ports, the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED boasts three USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, 1 microSD slot, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Asus only offers one display option for the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED, a 13.3 inches 16:10 glossy OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800. Asus claims that the display boasts 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and an incredible response time of 0.2 ms. Furthermore, the panel is VESA Certified for Display HDR True Black 500.
Asus Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED only comes with Intel 12th gen chips. The entry-level model of the Zenbook S 13 Flip packs a 12-core Intel Core i5-1240p, while the top-of-the-line model comes with the 12-core Intel Core i7-1260p. Both chips have integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics. When it comes to RAM and storage capacity, prospective buyers of the Zenbook S 13 Flip can outfit the notebook with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 5200 MHz memory and up to 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage.
Finally, the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED is powered by a 67 WH battery that can be charged to 60% in 49 minutes with the bundled USB Type-C charger. However, you can also use any standard Type-C charger to top up the Zenbook S 13 Flip.
The Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED will hit store shelves in Ponder Blue and Refined White in Q3 2022, starting at €1,999 for the entry-level model.
