ASUS now offers the Zenbook Pro 17 in Europe, where the laptop starts at €1,499. Announced in May with a view to a Q3 2022 release, the Zenbook Pro 17 has a 17.3-inch display operating at 2,560 x 1,440 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 165 Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, the laptop features a 76 Wh battery, which powers current generation AMD and NVIDIA hardware.
Specifically, all configurations feature the GeForce RTX 3050, a GA107-based graphics card that has 2,048 CUDA, 16 Ray Tracing and 64 Tensor cores. Also equipped with 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, ASUS has not revealed at what TGP the GeForce RTX 3050 in the Zenbook Pro 17 operates. For reference, the graphics card can consume between 35 W and 80 W, with base and boost clock speeds scaled accordingly. Also, the Zenbook Pro 17 can be configured with either a Ryzen 7 6800H or a Ryzen 9 6900HX, both with the Radeon 680M.
According to our database, the GeForce RTX 3050 offers approximately 1.8x the performance of the Radeon 680M. Currently, it seems that ASUS is not ready to start selling Ryzen 9 6900HX-equipped SKUs. Instead, only the base model is available, which comes with the Ryzen 7 6800H, 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD for €1,499. Eventually, the machine should be available with up to a Ryzen 9 6900HX, 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 2 TB SSD, although pricing for this configuration is unknown at this stage.
