ASUS insists that the Vivobook 13 Slate is available again but now for €699, not €599
In November, ASUS announced the Vivobook 13 Slate, which we have since reviewed. Comprised of a 13.3-inch OLED display and an Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor, the Vivobook 13 Slate is an OLED tablet for the masses. However, ASUS has quietly raised the tablet's price and without reason.
Initially, the company stated that the Vivobook 13 Slate would cost €599 in the Eurozone and US$599 in the Eurozone. Also, a press release reported in November that the tablet was available immediately. Today's press release reiterates its availability and points to its first press release for more details.
In the two months between the press releases, ASUS has raised the Vivobook 13 Slate to €699. Seemingly, the company has not upgraded the tablet in any way; it still refers to the model number T3300 too. Potentially, components could have become more expensive in the last few months, but ASUS has not confirmed this.
The Vivobook 13 Slate is still unavailable from any retailers, though. Additionally, even ASUS has not started selling it on its website, so it is unclear when the Vivobook 13 Slate will actually be orderable.
