 PM9C1b MZVL8512HFLU-00BLL

The Samsung PM9C1b MZVL8512HFLU-00BLL (MZ-VL8512T0D) is a 512-GB NVMe PCIe 4 x4 SSD that never received an official launch. Supposedly, PM9C1b drives are based on the same hardware as 990 Evo Plus models but are meant for OEMs rather than general consumers.

The 22 by 80 format drive first became available in 2024, with Notebookcheck editors only getting their hands on one in March 2026.

Performance

AS SSD reports a sequential read rate of 5.18 GB/s, with writes a little slower at 4.6 GB/s. These are decent figures for a mid-range drive in early 2026. Its performance sustainability seems reasonably good, too.

Premium business laptop with a budget display - Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 AMD Review

Lenovo updates the ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 with a new chassis, which improves the repairability as well as the speakers. However, the performance of the base model is very low and the biggest issue is the underwhelming screen quality, especially considering the high base price. Update: Linux tested

Update 3 | The ThinkPad T14 is one of the topsellers of the world's biggest PC manufacturer. The newest Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 brings Intel's Panther Lake, modern LPCAMM2 memory and a huge repairability upgrade. Sadly, the pricing may make it less appealing than it could be.

AMD Ryzen AI meets classic ThinkPad: Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 AMD laptop review

It may be a 2025 model, but the AMD Ryzen AI 300 CPU in the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 AMD delivers the same performance as a more modern Ryzen AI 400 chip. With rising prices, it may be worth to buy the older Lenovo laptop, despite its successor already being announced.
