HP EliteBook 8 G1a 16 AI laptop review: Redesigned inside and out
AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 | AMD Radeon 860M | 16.00" | 1.9 kg

The Micron 3500 MTFDKBA512TGD is a 512 GB, PCIe 4 x4 solid state drive that was launched in December 2023. The product weighs around 10 grams and is NVMe 2.0c compliant.
Compared to its elder brothers (the 1024 GB and the 2048 GB model), the 512 GB Micron 3500 sports a relatively unimpressive TBW value of 300 TB. All three make use of 232-layer 3D TLC NAND chips and an unknown controller (possibly a Phison one).
Performance
Micron's marketing materials claim a sequential read rate of around 7,000 MB/s is to be expected (writes: 5,100 MB/s). In our independent testing with AS SSD, we saw somewhat lower values of around 5,700 MB/s and 5,100 MB/s, respectively. Still, these make the 3500 series drive almost 2 times as fast as the Micron 3400 MTFDKBA512TFH.
Power consumption
Micron states the drive's power consumption can be as high as 8.25 W when under heavy loads.
