 SN7100S SDFPMSL-512G-1101

The Western Digital (SanDisk) SN7100S SDFPMSL-512G-1101 is a 512 GB lower mid-range PCIe 4 x4 SSD. While the spec sheet claims the SN7100S series only comes in M.2 2230 and M.2 2280 flavours, the drive we tested in April 2025 was in fact an M.2 2242 size SSD.

It appears this storage solution has no DRAM cache. SN7100S SSDs are offered in the following capacities: 256 GB, 512 GB, 1024 GB, 2048 GB.

Performance

With 5.16 GB/s and 2.77 GB/s, AS SSD does not confirm the claimed read and write rates of 6.8 GB/s and 5.8 GB/s, respectively. The positive thing is, the SDFPMSL-512G-1101 we tested exhibited zero throttling.
