Western Digital PCSN5000S SDEPMSJ-1T00-1101

The Western Digital PC SN5000S SDEPMSJ-1T00-1101 is a 1-terabyte M.2 22 by 42 SSD that never received an official launch. It appears the PCIe 4 x4 NVMe drive was unleashed on the global market in late Q1 2025.
Performance
1-terabyte SN5000S series drives are supposed to deliver sequential read and write rates of up to 6 GB/s and 5.4 GB/s, respectively. The SDEPMSJ-1T00 that Notebookcheck tested in June 2025 was only good for 4.92 GB/s reads and 3.34 GB/s writes according to AS SSD - not impressive numbers by any stretch of imagination. And in fact, the other two 1 TB SN5000S models tested by us, the SDEPNSJ-1T00 and the SDEQNSJ-1T00, did not fare any better.
