
Apple iMac 27 Mid 2020 Review: The All-in-One gets a matte display

The Apple SSD AP1024 is a built-in NVMe class SSD found in several Apple computers including the 15-inch MB Pro (2019). As it is permanently attached to the computer's motherboard, the 1 TB drive is non-removable. The AP1024 makes use of hardware encryption the Apple T2 chip is responsible for.
The drive's performance is mid-range to high-end as of H2 2019 and H1 2020. It is assumed the AP1024 is connected via four PCI-Express 3.0 lanes with theoretical throughput of up to 3.9 GB/s.
Apple sources SSDs from several OEMs including Samsung, Toshiba/Kioxia, Sandisk. To figure out the exact spec of a AP1024, please use HWINFO or a similar app.
