Reviews for the Apple MacBook Pro 15 2019 i9 Vega 20

89.4% Apple MacBook Pro 15 2019 in review: Still a very good multimedia laptop in 2020? | Notebookcheck
The MacBook Pro 15 2019 is also available with the Intel Core i9-9980HK. However, the cooling system is already at its limits with the smaller processors, so the upgrade is hardly worth it. The GPU upgrade to the Radeon Pro Vega 20 from AMD on the other hand makes more sense.

Once again, with the MacBook Pro 2019 refreshes, Apple has built a well-designed professional laptop with the MacBook Pro 15-inch (2019). Its upgraded internal components bring a welcome boost. However, the lack of port variety stops it from being a truly flexible prosumer device.

AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20: Dedicated graphics card based on the Vega architecture (or a mixture of Polaris and Vega like in the RX Vega M GL). It integrates 20 CUs (1.280 shaders) and 4 GB HBM2 graphics memory.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

i9-9980HK: On Coffee Lake architecture based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates eight processor cores clocked at 2.4 - 5 GHz (4.2 GHz with 8 cores) that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++). Offers an unlocked multiplier that allows overclocking of the CPU.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

15.40":

15-16 inch is a standard display size for laptops and offers the biggest variety of products.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

1.83 kg:

This weight is typical for very old and big tablets, subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 11-13 inch display-diagonal; nowadays, rather typical for 15 inch laptops.

Apple: Apple Inc. is an American multinational corporation which designs and manufactures consumer electronics and software products. Apple software includes the Mac OS X operating system but nowadays Macbooks are also able to run Windows. Apple has at least sporadically been considered the most valuable company in the world since 2011 and has consistently ranked among the Top 10 companies in the world.

In the laptop sector, Apple's market share was 9.3% in 2014 and 10.3% in 2016. The latter corresponds to the 5th place. In the smartphone segment, Apple achieved 15.3% in the first quarter of 2016, which means a market share loss when compared to the 18.3% in same quarter of the previous year.
Nevertheless, Apple ranked second place behind Samsung in both years.

There are tons of reviews on Apple laptops, smartphones and tablets. The ratings are significantly above-average (as of 2016).

81.57%: This rating should be considered to be average. This is because the proportion of notebooks which have a higher rating is approximately equal to the proportion which have a lower rating.
