Reviews for the Apple MacBook Pro 16 2019 Base 5300M

90% Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) review
Source: Tom's Guide English Archive.org version
If you're on the fence between Windows and macOS, the Dell XPS 15 is a compelling MacBook Pro alternative, as it offers comparable performance, a keyboard with even more travel and an OLED display for hundreds less. But if you are set on a Mac and demand a large canvas for work and play, the 16-inch MacBook Pro should satisfy for years to come.

Finally, Apple Brought The "Pro" Back: MacBook Pro 16” Review
Source: MrMobile English Archive.org version
With the exception of the time I “upgraded” from Windows 98 to Windows Millennium Edition (and then immediately back again) I’ve never experienced tech whiplash like I have with Apple’s MacBooks. Five years ago I made the MacBook Pro 2015 the foundation of my production pipeline; I logged thousands of hours on it, building hundreds of YouTube videos. It had all the ports I needed and it was rock-solid reliable. I didn’t covet it like I do flashier laptops … but I valued it a lot more, because I knew I could rely on it every single day. Then, Apple did something interesting: it took everything I loved about that 2015 MacBook Pro – and ruined it. 2016 was a dark year for the Apple MacBook Pro. The ports? Gone. The reliability? Lost- along with half my keystrokes on that notoriously fragile keyboard. From shot speakers to thermal throttling to backup failures, the 2016, 2017 and 2018 MacBooks Pro were varying flavors of compromise that I came to detest. It was only my love for Final Cut Pro, the software I use to make these videos, that prevented me from jumping entirely to Windows. For the MacBook Pro 16” / MacBook Pro 2019, Apple didn’t bring back my ports or take off the touchbar … but the changes it did make were enough. I’m MrMobile and for the first time in four years … I feel like I’m home. This is the Apple MacBook 16” Review.

80% Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch review: bigger and better than ever
Source: T3 English Archive.org version
Though the Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch is edged out by other machines on pure specs, Apple’s appeal has always been about the whole package, which is excellent here – and it fixes the keyboard issues that overshadowed its predecessors.

100% Apple MacBook Pro 16in (2019) review
Source: Stuff TV English Archive.org version
For many Stuff readers, that positions this particular MacBook Pro as a curiosity or a slice of unnecessary bling. If you’re wrestling daily with high-end creative or development work, it’s excellent. If not, it’s sheer overkill. But even if you’re better suited to a cheaper Mac, be glad this one exists, because soon the technology within will filter down to the rest of Apple’s line – and that really will feel like a revolution.

Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) review: A brilliant big-screen powerhouse
Source: Pocket Lint English Archive.org version
Apple has produced a monster of a machine that is capable of doing pretty much any task you could throw at it. And if you've struggled with recent MacBook models then, rest assured, the 16-inch is like an apology for all their wrongs. The 16-inch screen is bright, crisp, and huge (although not 4K), while the new keyboard is a joy to type on – finally, welcome back to the older scissor mechanism. Our only concern is that all this power and performance comes with a battery that you'll probably struggle to get you through a long day of work on the go, especially if you start to use power apps like Photoshop or Logic Pro. If you need your office on the go and don't mind being too far from a power outlet, however, then this machine is hard to beat.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro is amazing, but it’s still a Mac [Review]
Source: Cult of Mac English Archive.org version
But in summary, I really like this MacBook Pro. It looks great, it’s fast, and it fits extremely well into your existing ecosystem of Apple products. And, while the Mac is certainly still the workhorse of Apple’s lineup, there are ever more places where the iPad has pulled ahead. One is the superior A-series chipset. Another is the way apps work so well together on iOS. And another is the initial setup process.

90% MacBook Pro review (16-inch, 2019)
Source: Tom's Guide English Archive.org version
The 16-inch MacBook Pro has the keyboard every Apple laptop should have. And I really do hope that Apple brings this keyboard to the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, as superior ergonomic comfort should not be a premium feature. But that's just the way it is for now. There are plenty of other reasons to splurge on this laptop, including its vivid 16-inch display with narrower bezels, amazing audio system and epic battery life.

90% MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) review
Source: Laptop Mag English Archive.org version
The 16-inch MacBook Pro is the best Apple laptop in years. The Magic keyboard feels a lot more comfortable than any Butterfly MacBook keyboard I’ve tried. I also appreciate the slimmer bezels, sharper display and especially the booming sound. Another key selling point for pros is the nearly 11 hours of battery life, which blows away all of Apple's closest competitors.

AMD Radeon Pro 5300M: Mobile mid range graphics card based on the Navi 14 chip (RDNA architecture) that should be slightly faster than a GTX 1650.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

i7-9750H: A high-performance hexa-core processor of the Coffee Lake product family designed for the larger laptops. Integrates six processor cores clocked at 2.6 - 4.5 GHz (4 GHz with 6 cores) that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++).» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

16.00":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
