Acer Aspire 17 2024 laptop review: Weak dGPU and a disappointing display
Intel Core 7 150U | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Mobile | 17.30" | 2.2 kg
The Western Digital SN740 SDDQNQD-1T00-1014 is an affordable 1 TB PCIe 4 x4 NVMe SSD with a claimed sequential read rate of up to 5,150 MB/s and a claimed write rate of up to 4,900 MB/s. It is powered by SanDisk's 20-82-10082-A1 controller and a single high-density 3D NAND chip.
While the version we tested in Q3 2024 was a 2280 SSD, smaller 2242 and 2230 variants exist as well. At 400, the TBW value for the 1 TB model is nothing to write home about.
Performance
CrystalDiskMark 6 confirms Western Digital's performance claims while AS SSD 1.9 does not (we got just 4.47 GB/s and 2.26 GB/s for sequential reads and writes, respectively). Either way, these numbers represent a decent improvement over the 512 GB version and are absolutely sufficient for the vast majority of tasks in late 2024.
Power consumption
The drive normally consumes around 5 W under load according to the official spec sheet.
