It's easy to write off Lenovo's 16-inch convertible when showstoppers like the ThinkPad X1 Fold or ThinkBook Twist are constantly taking headlines. Nevertheless, it's worth reminding users that this year's Yoga 7 16ILL10 convertible deserves some attention as well for its surprising number of upgrades over its immediate Yoga 7 16IML9 predecessor.
As detailed in our review of the model, the Yoga 7 16ILL10 has swapped out Meteor Lake processors for the much more efficient Lunar Lake series. Attributes such as battery life, graphics performance, and Co-Pilot performance have all been improved as a result. Lenovo could have stopped there, but the company went the extra mile by making the model thinner and lighter by respectable margins while rearranging the ports to be more convenient for charging. These small changes add up quickly for a better user experience which is especially needed in the unwieldy 16-inch convertible space.
Raw CPU performance, fan noise ceiling, and audio quality remain fairly similar year-over-year, but core temperature is the one notable exception. The 2025 model actually runs warmer than its predecessor likely due to the lighter weight and thinner design leading to a smaller cooling solution. When the CPU is fully stressed, for example, core temperature would stabilize at 86 C compared to 79 C on the older Yoga 7 16IML9.
