Lenovo has confirmed fresh details about its next lightweight tablet release. Launching with a 12.1-inch display and a landscape-oriented webcam, the new tablet also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset within a housing that weighs a mere 458 g in a choice of three colours.

Earlier this year, Lenovo introduced the 4th generation in its Legion Y700 tablet series with new hardware like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, faster storage, a larger battery and a new 50 MP camera to complement its 8.8-inch and 165 Hz display. Prior to that, the company released the larger Yoga Tab Plus (curr. $599 on Amazon), which combined a 12.7-inch display with Qualcomm's older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Now it has revealed more details about another new tablet, which it has been teasing for the last few weeks on Chinese social media. As it turns out, the upcoming Xiaoxin AI Tablet Pro GT is much closer in ethos to the Yoga Tab Plus than the more recent Legion Y700 Gen 4. For example, Lenovo has now confirmed that the Xiaoxin AI Tablet Pro GT utilises the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 via a whimsical set of teaser images.

Moreover, the Xiaoxin AI Tablet Pro GT features a 12.1-inch display that Lenovo has surrounded with relatively slim bezels. While many of the company's official promotional images show the tablet in portrait mode, its webcam position indicates that Lenovo has designed the Xiaoxin AI Tablet Pro GT with landscape usage in mind.

To that end, three pogo pins grace the tablet's bottom edge presumably for a keyboard case or an equivalent accessory that provides data and requires power. The Xiaoxin AI Tablet Pro GT also supports pen input, as the photo at the top of the article makes clear. Apparently, Lenovo has packaged all this up in a housing that weighs just 458 g, which would make the Xiaoxin AI Tablet Pro GT about 28% lighter than the Yoga Tab Plus. Unfortunately, a release date still escapes Lenovo's teasers for the time being.
