Lenovo has updated two of its ThinkPad Aura Edition laptops after debuting them during CES 2025 at the start of the year. Originally, the ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition (curr. $1,699 on Amazon) was only available in dark grey regardless of whether you opted for its 14-inch or 15-inch variants. However, Lenovo has now refreshed both with what it describes as 'Moonlight White' finishes.
Only available in China for the time being, Moonlight White is said to contain a special coating that should minimise discolouration. While this is the first time that Lenovo has offered ThinkPad in white, it has marked the occasion with any other tweaks. In fact, the laptops continue to feature black keyboards and display bezels.
Likewise, both ThinkPad X9 Aura Edition models retain Intel Lunar Lake processors up to a Core Ultra 9 288V, 2.8K OLED displays with 120 Hz refresh rates and 32 GB of on-package RAM. Please note that the 14-inch variant drops to a 55 Wh battery compared to the 80 Wh equivalent inside its 15-inch sibling.
At this stage, it is unclear whether Lenovo intends to release this Moonlight White refresh globally. For reference, this new variants start at CNY 12,999 (~$1,813) with a Core Ultra 7 258V processor and rises to CNY 16,999 (~$2,371) when optioning the 15-inch model with a Core Ultra 9 288V and 2 TB of storage.
