Capable of running 25 W higher than last year's model, the updated Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 is built around the Intel Core i9-13900H processor and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 laptop GPU. It features a 16-inch QHD Mini-LED Nebula HDR display and is the first device of its size to use the ROG AniMe Matrix LED lighting array.

ASUS has introduced the ROG Zephyrus G14 (2023), an AMD Zen 4 and RTX 40 series upgrade for the company's 14-inch gaming laptop. Offered with a choice of three displays, the new ROG Zephyrus G14 also has plenty of ports and up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, among other features.

ASUS has showcased the ROG Flow X13 (2023), a 13.4-inch convertible that offers new AMD and NVIDIA hardware. Available later this quarter in Europe, the latest ROG Flow X13 comes with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 Zen 4 APU, an RTX 4070 GPU and a choice of two displays, among other features.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 have finally made their way to laptops. Both SKUs are up to 4x faster than their Ampere predecessors while consuming remarkably less power. Gamers can try them out starting on February 8 starting at US$1,999.

Dell has launched the Alienware x16 at CES 2023 with Intel Raptor Lake-H and Nvidia RTX 40 Laptop GPU options up to the RTX 4090. The Alienware x16 embodies the new Legend 3.0 design language and features Dolby Vision displays, an optional CherryMX mechanical keyboard, and vapor chamber cooling for the high-end SKUs with RTX 4080 and RTX 4090.

Nvidia has announced the mobile versions of its Ada Lovelace-based RTX 4000 graphics cards. The GeForce RTX 4070, RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 will supposedly deliver GeForce RTX 3080-class performance while consuming a third of the power. Gaming laptops featuring the GPUs will be available starting February 22 at US$999.

Alienware x14 R2 has landed on the gaming notebook scene with the 13th gen Raptor Lake mobile CPUs and up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics. The laptop retains the aesthetic Alienware’s x-series notebooks are known for while packing an improved display. Additionally, the machine features the Alienware X series 1-Zone keyboard with AlienFX per-key RGB.

Dell is re-introducing the 18-inch form factor with the Alienware m18. The Alienware m18 comes in both Intel/Nvidia and all-AMD options while offering a choice between QHD+ 165 Hz and FHD 480 Hz displays. Buyers can also configure the Alienware m18 with a CherryMX keyboard and up to 9 TB of quad-storage configurations.

Gigabyte has announced two new high-end gaming laptops, the Aorus 17X and Aorus 15X. Both feature 240 Hz QHD screens, a 13th-generation Intel Alder Lake processor, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and a 99 Wh battery.

Intel has updated its low-power CPU lineup with a host of new CPUs. The P series is spearheaded by the Intel Core i7-1370P and the U series by the Intel Core i7-1365U. The former has a TDP of 28 Watts and the latter 15 Watts and both use a hybrid design with performance and efficiency cores.

Intel officially unveiled the Raptor Lake-HX and Raptor Lake-H mobile CPU lineup at CES 2023. Led by the Core i9-13980HX, Raptor Lake-HX promises significant gains in multi-core performance compared to corresponding Alder Lake-HX and the Ryzen 6900HX. MediaTek and Federated Wireless have announced that products such as 5G hotspots and Ethernet gateways powered by Filogic chips for either Wi-Fi 7 or 6E stand to benefit from improved capacity, speed and range, as they are now more compatible with the 6GHz band on Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) systems. The chips' new certification is touted as an important step toward their inclusion into standardized devices approved by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).

MediaTek asserts that its Wi-Fi 7 tech is taking off as of 2023, with an upcoming range of devices based on its new flagship Filogic 880 chipset for this purpose. The OEM has now also confirmed that it will be a part of Lenovo's upcoming Legion series. Its Wi-Fi 7 solution has also been chosen to pair with the next generation of AMD Ryzen processors, as well as with that of testing and validation equipment.

Samsung is expected to introduce a refreshed Galaxy Book 3 lineup alongside the Galaxy S23 series in early February. The first leaked images of the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, Galaxy Book 3 Pro, and the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 indicate an all-metal chassis and USB Type-C connectivity. Specifications are not fully clear, but an upgrade to Intel Raptor Lake processors is likely in tow.

Apple increased the price of the entry-level M2 MacBook Air by US$200 over the M1 MacBook Air. To justify the price bump, Apple redesigned the laptop with the second iteration of Cupertino’s in-house silicon at the notebook’s core. The 2022 MacBook Air also has an improved IPS display with a divisive notch.

With a list price of US$2,599, the MSI Raider GE66 12UGS-238 gaming laptop is quite expensive. However, the 24% Amazon discount brings this Intel Core i7-12700H-powered machine below the US$2,000 threshold. It also sports NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics, Thunderbolt 4, 32 GB memory, and 1 TB storage.

Intel's upcoming Raptor Lake-HX is now almost confirmed thanks to a recent leak of an MSI Raider GE78 HX laptop powered by the Core i9-13980HX on Geekbench. The CPU seems to be offering desktop-class performance with single-core and multi-core scores almost on par with a 170 W AMD Ryzen 9 7950X. The Core i9-13980HX also seems to be significantly faster than a leaked 12-core Apple M2 Max running the same benchmark.

A new leak shows the 3DMark Time Spy score of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 mobile. It scores 10,050 points in the benchmark, making it about 20% faster than its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 3060.

Schenker has announced that the Vision 15 is now available with a CPU upgrade. The thin-and-light laptop still has a 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen, but can now be ordered with an Alder Lake platform. This E23 version also comes with LPDDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi 6E for the first time.

Alleged clock and TGP specifications of Nvidia's upcoming Ada RTX 40 Laptop GPU lineup have now surfaced. The purported specs seem to indicate up to 200 W TGP including Dynamic Boost for the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 Laptop GPUs with boost clocks well above the 2 GHz mark. Lenovo has refreshed its IdeaPad Pro offerings with the IdeaPad Pro 5i 14 and IdeaPad Pro 5i 16. These models now feature Intel Raptor Lake-H CPUs and discrete graphics options up to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (16-inch variant). The new IdeaPad Pro 5i series comes with larger touchpads, FHD IR webcams with ToF sensors, and high-resolution 120 Hz display options.

The other specifications are largely similar to their Raptor Lake-H-powered counterparts, but here only the IdeaPad Pro 5 16 gets dGPU options up to the Nvidia RTX 4050 Laptop GPU.
