Zen 4 model of the Acer Swift Edge 16 has recorded a steep price drop of $450 and can now be had for only $849.99. According to slickdeals, this is the lowest rate for the laptop that was first seen in December. 

Based on our review of the Acer Swift Edge 16, $849.99 seems like an excellent price for the quality on offer. With a “very good” rating of 89%, the laptop impressed us with its build, thin and light nature, OLED display, and iGPU performance.

Talking a bit more about the display, the 16-inch OLED panel of the Acer Swift Edge 16 runs at a silky 120 Hz, has low a response time, and offers inky deep blacks alongside an average brightness of 383 nits. We measured the screen to deliver 100% sRGB, 100% AdobeRGB, and 99.9% DCI-P3 coverage. So, the panel covers both gaming and content creation needs.

On the topic of gaming, while the absence of a discreet GPU might suggest a subpar gaming experience, the Radeon 780M inside the Ryzen 7 7840U is a capable performer when you lower the resolution and drop the settings down. For instance, the Acer Swift Edge 16 maintained highly playable frame rates in all the tested games except Cyberpunk 2077 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderland at FHD/Low. Older games like The Witcher 3 and GTA V were even pushed beyond 100 FPS.

On the CPU side, the Acer Swift Edge 16 with the Ryzen 7 7840U is a solid performer with Cinebench R23 single-core and multi-core scores of 1,719 and 12,032 respectivey. So, the laptop should perform pretty well in all but the heaviest of workloads.

Long story short, if you are in the market for a thin and light productivity machine with a big, beautiful screen and good performance, the Acer Swift Edge 16 fits the bill rather nicely.
