Bright 16:10 display. It's not exactly easy to find a laptop with a bright display in the price range below 1,000 Euros (~$995). HP's sleek and compact Envy 14 is among the few exceptions. Read on to find out what else the 14-inch device can do.

8 cores in a compact chassis. With the ZenBook 14, Asus aims to appeal to customers who are looking for a particularly light and slim laptop that also offers long battery life. Despite the compact case dimensions, the built-in Ryzen CPU provides a surprising amount of power.

Poor display and inadequate performance. The Galaxy Book2 is an interesting multimedia laptop that Samsung is bringing to the market. It features a 15.6-inch display and pairs an Intel Alder Lake CPU with the new Intel Arc A350M dedicated graphics card. In daily use, however, it disappoints in terms of both performance and image quality.

Lightweight. The Core i7-11800H CPU and the GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU bring all the latest games smoothly onto the matte QHD screen (165 Hz). This is complemented by a mechanical keyboard, good battery life, and a Thunderbolt 4 port.

Still too expensive. Microsoft keeps the compact Surface Laptop Go, equipping the second generation with Intel's Tiger Lake CPUs. While the performance is sufficient for everyday tasks and the case and display are decent, the price is too high and there is no keyboard illumination.

Finally a matte display. The LG Gram 17 (17Z90Q) is very light at 1,350 grams, and it features an Alder Lake processor, Thunderbolt 4 as well as room for two PCIe 4 SSDs. This is complemented by excellent battery life and a matte 17-inch display in the 16:10 format (2,560x1,600 pixels).

The Titans have arrived. After a two-year hiatus, the MSI Titan GT77 signifies the company resurrecting its iconic flagship laptop lineup. The Titan GT77 is powered by the Core i9-12900HX, a 175 W RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU, and other niceties including plenty of NVMe storage, DDR5-4800 RAM, and a highly tactile Cherry MX mechanical keyboard — almost everything that enthusiast gamers aspire for. The Titan GT77 is a covetable desktop replacement indeed, but it is not without certain shortcomings.

New look, new specs. The Inspiron 16 Plus 7610 is barely a year old, but the newer Inspiron 16 Plus 7620 brings enough changes both inside and out that performance hunters and even content creators may want to take notice.

For pros on the go. Last year's Spectre x360 14 was one of the best convertible laptops in its size category. This year's refresh addresses many of the shortcomings of its older sibling to be an easy recommendation for the hybrid work-at-home and office lifestyles.

A Dynabook dinosaur? The Portege X40-K is the company's premium business laptop retailing for over $1400 USD and yet it comes with a display that's found on budget laptops for almost half the price. The model could certainly use more updates beyond just the new 12th gen CPU.

The expensive Air has to throttle earlier. After we tested the basic model, we now also got our hands on the faster version of the new MacBook Air with 16 GB of RAM, a large 1-TB SSD, and the faster 10-core GPU version of the M2 and ran it through our tests. However, the graphics update is particularly disappointing, since the passively cooled MacBook Air M2 needs to throttle its performance quickly.

ThinkPad meets XPS 13 - with Ryzen. Why is there no ThinkPad X1 with AMD CPUs? That's because there's now a premium series exclusively for AMD with the ThinkPad Z series. The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 G1 presents many arguments in its favor in our review, and it's one of the best compact laptops so far in 2022.

Fast, but loud! Acer's Nitro 5 series is known for its affordable gaming machines. The latest Alder Lake CPU and a fast GeForce RTX 3060 aim to put this particular model on solid footing. However, there is a lot of criticism in terms of noise. More details can be found in the following review.

Entry-level GeForce RTX 3050 gaming. After having just reviewed the TUF Dash F15 with GeForce RTX 3070 graphics, let's see how it compares to the less expensive GeForce RTX 3050 option. The cheaper GPU is slower, of course, but it disappoints in other key areas as well.
