Deal | ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 hits lowest price ever at Best Buy after generous 38% discount for Ryzen 9 6900HS and RTX 3060 SKU

We reported last month that the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 with a Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU, an RTX 3060 mobile GPU, 16 GB of DDR5-4800 memory, and a 512 GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD was going for US$1,099.99, the lowest price at Best Buy at that time. Now, the notebook’s price has dropped further and has hit a new low of US$999.99 which is a massive US$620 off the list price and US$50 off on the recent sale price of US$1,049.99 per Honey’s price history tool (via slickdeals).

For the uninitiated, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 is a mid-range gaming laptop that rocks a 15.6-inch display. The panel boasts a 2560x1440 resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, an advertised 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and a 3 ms response time. These advertised values correspond with our findings as we noted a DCI-P3 coverage of 97% alongside sRGB and AdobeRGB coverages of 99.9% and 86.2% respectively.

We also noticed in our review that the laptop is well built and portable thanks to less than 2 kg weight, thin bezels, and slim profile. The device also packs a healthy mix of ports that includes two Type-A, two Type-C, an HDMI 2.0, an audio jack, a microSD slot, and an ethernet jack.

When it comes to performance, our review device showcased excellent CPU and GPU performance thanks to the Ryzen 9 5900HS and RTX 3080. Although the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 on sale features a faster Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU and weaker RTX 3060, the CPU and GPU combo is enough to power modern games beyond 60 FPS at High/Ultra settings. For instance, the RTX 3060 pushed The Last of Us 2023 to 54 FPS at FHD/Ultra, Returnal to 72 FPS at FHD/Epic settings, and up to 79 FPS in Spiderman Miles Morales at FHD/Ultra settings in our testing.

Finally, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 also has excellent endurance for a gaming laptop, as it posted more than 9 hours in our WLAN test.
