LG may have cancelled the Rollable, but someone has got their hands on a prototype unit. With a motorised mechanism and a flexible AMOLED display, the LG Rollable could have been one of the most unusual and exciting smartphones, particularly with the advent of Android 12L.

The FCC has certified the Galaxy Z Fold4, a crucial step in the road to the device's release. Expected to debut on August 26, the FCC appears to confirm that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will support a Samsung S Pen, along with the latest mobile and Wi-Fi connectivity standards.

Motorola has now started to hint at a 2022 addition to the foldable clamshell Razr series of smartphones in earnest. They are now tipped to launch with what might be reasonable enough price-tags in China.

According to reports, Samsung will be making at least two modest improvements with this year's Galaxy Z Flip. Not only will the Galaxy Z Flip4 feature a larger battery than the Galaxy Z Flip3, but also a more spacious cover display. Purportedly, Samsung has decided to upgrade the Galaxy Z Flip to over a 2-inch cover display, which should deliver an improved user experience over the equivalent in the Galaxy Z Flip3.

Ross Young has outlined display differences between this year's Pixel Fold and Galaxy Z Fold4. While the pair are expected to feature similarly-sized interior displays, they may look quite different externally. Apparently, the Pixel Fold could launch with a wider aspect ratio than the Galaxy Z Fold4, perhaps in a similar vein to the Oppo Find N.

Reportedly, Samsung has settled on the batteries with which it will equip the Galaxy Z Flip4. The changes from last year's model should deliver a higher battery capacity than the 3,300 mAh that the Galaxy Z Flip3 offers, but only just.

Samsung has announced a new limited-edition version of the Galaxy Z Flip3. This may be the foldable phone's official Pokemon-themed variant; however, it only seems to differ hugely from a standard unit in its packaging. It comes in a much larger box stuffed with appropriately-themed accessories and Easter eggs.
