MagyarLeaker reveals European pricing and memory configurations for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5
Samsung is just over two weeks away from introducing its next set of flagship devices, having presented the Galaxy S23 series in early February. As we have covered separately, Samsung will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26 in Seoul from 11:00 UTC. So far, the company has only hinted at unveiling a next-generation Galaxy Z Flip, shown by various leaks as the Galaxy Z Flip5. Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold5 during the same event, along with the Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Watch6 series.
Now, leaker @billbil_kun has shared pricing information for what is likely all Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 memory configurations. As usual, @billbil_kun caveats their leak by stating that the prices will only apply 'in mainland France'. For reference, VAT rates vary between 17% and 27%, with French VAT set at 20%. However, with the average VAT rate in the Eurozone sat at 21%, the prices below may be less than €10 lower than average.
In any case, @billbil_kun reports that the Galaxy Z Flip5 will start at €1,199 with 256 GB of storage, significantly less than an earlier leak suggested. Still, this would see a €30 uplift between comparable Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Flip5 models and €100 more than the cheapest Galaxy Z Flip4 with 128 GB of storage. Additionally, @billbil_kun asserts that Samsung will offer 512 GB versions of the Galaxy Z Flip5 in Europe for a €200 surcharge (€1,399) over 256 GB versions.
Meanwhile, @billbil_kun adds that the Galaxy Z Fold5 will start at €1,899 with 256 GB of storage. Thus, it seems as though the Galaxy Z Fold5 will be €100 pricier than its predecessor, a gap which grows to €120 for 512 GB editions (€2,039). Purportedly, Samsung plans to sell the Galaxy Z Fold5 with 1 TB of storage in Europe too, but for a 20% increase over the entry-level model at €2,279. Overall, it appears that this year's Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold models will be a touch more expensive than their predecessors, despite their various similarities with the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, respectively.
