Honor Magic V2: July 2023 launch date announced for upcoming flagship foldable smartphone
Honor will mark the X series' 10th anniversary in conjunction with a debut for its latest generation on July 5, 2023. It is already hyped as having an upgraded take on its predecessor's design - with a 1.5K "eye-protecting curved screen" powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, according to the eminent leaker Digital Chat Station.
The famous tipster also paints the upcoming Honor X50-series smartphones as mid-rangers embellished with 100MP main cameras, up to 16GB of RAM and potentially generous 5,800mAh batteries. Nevertheless, they stand to be blown away in terms of premium features by the launch of the upcoming Magic V2 7 days later.
Honor had come to MWC Shanghai 2023 to discuss the future of its smartphone business - which includes the release of a second-gen smartphone rumored to beat the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 to a launch as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered foldable flagship.
Its OEM also notes that its commitment to the development of "innovations" for its form-factor have resulted in upgrades such as a switch to silicon-carbon batteries and a "Super-light Titanium Hinge" - however, whether the Magic V successor can incorporate them all on its July 12, 2023 launch remains to be seen.
