Xiaomi releases MIUI beta based on Android 14 for three smartphones
Xiaomi has announced that it is recruiting beta testers for MIUI based on Android 14. Currently described as 'MIUI beta version', the update is rumoured to arrive in stable form later this year under the banner of MIUI 14.1. As expected, Xiaomi has decided to offer early access to Android 14 on its latest flagship series.
While the Xiaomi 13 Ultra misses the cut for now, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are eligible. The same is the case for the Xiaomi 12T, but not the Xiaomi 12T Pro. Presumably, this is only the start of Xiaomi's beta recruitment, for which we would expect the Xiaomi 12T Pro to be eligible.
Please note that Xiaomi is only recruiting beta testers for its Global ROM and not any other versions of it, such as EU or Indian distributions. For reference, you check which version of MIUI your device is running by heading to Settings and 'About phone', with 'MI' denoting a Global ROM build. Moreover, Xiaomi stresses that the 2,000 beta testers per smartphone must be prepared to visit a Xiaomi Service Center if issues arise after installing a beta ROM upgrade. Please see Xiaomi's forum post for more information and requirements for being a beta tester.
