Samsung India has teased the launch of the Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE in India. While its exact release date is unknown, it will supposedly cost INR 49,999 (US$610).

Rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE (and Galaxy S23 FE) have begun to pick up steam despite initial reports citing they'd never see the light of day. Meanwhile, users in India will get another FE-branded Samsung phone. Unfortunately, it is the Galaxy S21 FE with a different SoC.

The confirmation comes straight from Samsung India's official Twitter handle, albeit tacitly. While the Tweet doesn't explicitly mention the Galaxy S21 FE, the process of elimination (and the lack of any non-flagship Snapdragon 888-powered Samsung phones) tells us that it is the device in question.

Besides, murmurs about Samsung launching the Snapdragon 888 Galaxy S21 FE variant in India have been around for a while. A report from 91mobiles states it will cost around INR 49,999 (US$610) for the lone variant with 8 GB memory and 256 GB storage. Given Samsung's promotional material, a tentative release window is unknown, but it shouldn't be long.

Exactly why Samsung plans to relaunch the Galaxy S21 FE in India remains a mystery. Its predecessor didn't sell particularly well, and the new variant will likely follow suit, given the multitude of better-specced options available at that price.
