Xiaomi has unveiled new fast charging technology with the Redmi Note 12 Pro Discovery Edition. Equipped with a 4,300 mAh battery, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Discovery Edition boasts 210 W fast charging for just 9-minute recharge times.

After a week of teasers, Xiaomi has now launched the Redmi Note 12 series in China. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus will likely be considered the most interesting of the bunch, thanks to its new, impressive 200 MP main camera and a starting price tag that converts into less than US$300.

The Redmi Note 12 has arrived, the entry-level model in the new Redmi Note 12 series. Equipped with the same display as the Redmi Note 12 Pro, the Redmi Note 12 also has Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, a 5,000 mAh battery and a 48 MP camera. The Redmi Note 12 starts at CNY 1,199 (~US$167) in China, but an international launch remains pending at this stage.

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Note 12 Pro in China, where it starts at CNY 1,699 (~US$237) with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Available with up to 12 GB of RAM, the Redmi Note 12 Pro has the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, a 50 MP camera with OIS and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports OIS, among other features.

Transparent displays are thought to have an ever-expanding place in the future, within commercial displays and signage at least. Now, BOE has unveiled the latest result of its research and development in this area. Its new MLED has launched as a kind of see-through display with enhanced brightness and transmittance.

Carl Pei's tech company Nothing has just introduced the ear (stick) as the second in its line of audio accessories. The product's individual earbuds look a lot like those of the inaugural ear (1); however, the OEM asserts that they come with upgraded drivers, an improved Clear Voice algorithm for calls and a reduced weight. On that note, the ear (stick) gets its name from the radical shift in charging case, also rated to extend the buds' total battery life, compared to its predecessor.

Huawei has unveiled the Watch GT 3 SE, a new model in the Watch GT 3 series. Effectively a cheaper offshoot of the regular Watch GT 3, the Watch GT 3 SE still has a round AMOLED display and up to 14 days of battery life, among other features.

Samsung has announced that Maintenance Mode will start to become a part of One UI worldwide from the current v5 iteration. It allows a user to secure the personal or sensitive data found on a smartphone they need to send off for repair, and recover it only when it is back in their hands. Then again, it will be available on certain Galaxy S21- and S22-series units thus far.

Vivo has announced Funtouch 13 as the latest UI for its smartphones. It is intended for those devices sold in markets such as India and Europe, and is based on up-to-date Android 13. Its rollout starts with a series of public betas, mainly available to flagships such as the X80 and X70 Pro Plus, although some mid-rangers such as those from the V and T series are in line alongside them for the upcoming November 2022 phase of this program.

The luxury-focused smartphone brand Vertu has adopted Web3 with the new Metavertu handset. It sports a number of 'normal' flagship-grade features such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered device and a large FHD+ AMOLED display, yet purports to augment them with features such as a "secure chip" for the user's blockchain activities, not to mention a choice of premium finishes that include an alligator leather rear panel that pushes the Metavertu's USD asking price into five figures.

MelGeek is now releasing the Pixel via a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. Billed as the first keyboard that can be customised with LEGO bricks, the keyboard also has numerous configuration options, including a choice of five switch types.

Motorola has now made the Razr 22 official as a product on some European versions of its website. The new clamshell smartphone is touted as a design icon redefined thanks to the enlarged 2.7-inch cover screen to go with its up-to-144Hz main 6.7-inch OLED display, both driven by an up-to-date Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC. Vivo's press conference for the next generation of flagship-grade, Zeiss-branded, mobile camera solutions of today (October 24, 2022) has met with an initial leak suggesting how they will look in devices such as the rumored X90 premium Android smartphone series. They are touted to come with upgraded low-light and portrait performance, as well as a new dedicated image signal processor (ISP).

Ulefone has just introduced a new smartphone as one that a user could throw around a construction site with impunity, yet offer a high-end experience at the same time. To this end, the Armor 17 Pro packs a number of unusually premium specs for its brand, a 120Hz display, a 108MP main rear camera and fast charging with magnetic wireless charging included. On the other hand, it also rocks a 4G/LTE-only MediaTek SoC and runs Android 12.

Released to universal critical acclaim for multiple platforms back in 2016, Persona 5 got the Royal version in 2019, and now this version is finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch system. This title includes more than 40 items of previously released downloadable content and carries a price tag that reads US$59.99.

Samsung and China Telecom have just made the W23 - and W23 Flip - official. The high-end take on the existing Galaxy Z Fold4 has arrived alongside one on the latest Galaxy Z Flip for the first time. Both have been modified to have more RAM than standard SKUs, and to have a new high-end finish with more gold accents, ceramic finishes or both than usual.

Samsung has introduced the ISOCELL HPX as the latest in its steadily-growing portfolio of mobile image sensors with the current class-leading resolution of 200 megapixels (MP). It boasts the smallest pixel the OEM makes for CMOS of this caliber for recording at up to 8K/30fps, touted to deliver cinematic levels of image quality and color accuracy. It is also rated to use the Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) technique for potentially improved light sensitivity.

Xiaomi has presented the Redmi X Pro, its first gaming TV. Launching in 65-inch and 75-inch sizes, the Redmi X Pro offers a 4K native resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and excellent colour accuracy, among other features suited to gamers.

iQOO has made the latest addition to its flagship-killing Neo series of Android smartphones official. Its top-end MediaTek processor runs a new build of OriginOS Ocean out of the box, whereas its main rear camera is an up-to-date 50MP shooter with OIS. The surprisingly affordable flagship-grade device has launched alongside a range of iQOO-branded TWS earbuds, a smartphone cooler and a clip-on controller.

Intel showed off a prototype of the next generation of its Thunderbolt standard. The as-of-yet-unnamed next-gen Thunderbolt doubles the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4 while providing bandwidth of up to 120 Gbps for displays. The new Thunderbolt version supports the latest version of USB4 and DisplayPort 2.1.

1MORE has introduced its latest wireless earphones as its first ever audio accessories with spatial audio. The OEM claims that this upgrade confers a "3D", "cinematic" and "immersive" experience on the Aeros. The TWS buds also support its brand's active noise cancelling (ANC) features with a new, algorithmically-enhanced 6-mic system for potentially clearer voice calls.

ViewSonic's latest gaming monitor combines Mini LED technology with a high refresh rate panel. Not only does the Elite XG341C-2K output at 1440p and 200 Hz, but it also delivers up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness thanks to its 1,152 local dimming zones.

Huawei has presented the MatePad C5e globally, a new MatePad SE model aimed at business customers who want a mid-range tablet solution. Equipped with a 10.1-inch display, the MatePad C5e offers a few novel software customisations, as well as a large 5,100 mAh battery.

Apple has introduced a version of the Apple TV 4K. Upgraded from the A12 Bionic to the A15 Bionic, the revised Apple TV 4K contains other upgrades too, like support for HDR10+ content.

Apple has overhauled the entry-level iPad, one of three tablets that the company has introduced today. Not only has Apple given its budget iPad a new design, but it has also upgraded the tablet to USB Type-C and the A14 Bionic. The new iPad launches alongside a curious Apple Pencil accessory, too.

Apple has announced new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. Now available with the Apple M2, the iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9 also have Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, unlike the current MacBook Air.

Analogue is preparing to re-release the Super Nt and Mega Sg, a pair of retro games consoles that natively support SNES and MEGA Drive games, respectively. Both consoles will be available for US$199.99 and will come in multiple colours.

AOC has announced the AOC GAMING 25G3ZM/BK, a mid-range gaming monitor with a flat 24.5-inch panel. Outputting at 1080p and 240 Hz, the AOC GAMING 25G3ZM/BK also delivers 0.5 ms GtG response times and excellent colour space coverage. AOC has revealed the price of the AOC GAMING 25G3ZM/BK and its release window, too.

Juno Tablets has introduced the Juno Tablet, which ships with Linux, an Intel Jasper Lake processor and a 10.1-inch display. Available from £449 with 256 GB of storage, the Juno Tablet also comes in 512 GB and 1 TB flavours, all with 8 GB of RAM.

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi A1 Plus, starting in India. Available from INR 7,499 (~US$91), the Redmi A1 Plus comes in three colours, two memory configurations and shares numerous similarities with the regular Redmi A1.

With its 4K/UHD resolution and form-factor, LG's new Smart Monitor 32SQ780S has clearly launched as a challenger to the Samsung M80B. The new external display combines features such as streaming app support, webOS-based UI and a "Magic" Remote with an orientation-switching ErgoStand and a USB type-C port with 65W charging. It has appeared on Amazon.com with one colorway and a competitive price.

Fossil has launched the Gen 6 Wellness Edition, its first smartwatch running Wear OS 3. Merely a re-bodied Fossil Gen 6, the Gen 6 Wellness Edition features a sleeker design and Fossil's all-new Wellness app, among other changes.

TCL has gone to the Broadband World Forum 2022 to unveil its latest pieces of consumer premises equipment (CPE). The LINKHUB HH512 and HH512L are router-like devices that support potentially multi-gigabit 5G speeds, whereas the new LINKZONE MW513 is more of a MiFi-like device with similar connectivity.

Apple has announced that its Card's app now supports a new Savings account. This new service has been designed to store money accrued through its Daily Cash spending incentive. The new account type, which will apparently be maintained by Goldman Sachs, has been promised "high-yield" growth, although the Cupertino giant has yet to specify the rate of interest involved.

Razer has officially announced its first-ever handheld gaming console at Razercon 2022. The Razer Edge has some interesting specs, such as a high-refresh-rate AMOLED panel, a beefy Qualcomm chip and a 5,000 mAh battery. It goes on sale in January 2023 starting at US$399.

Sony pitches the new ZV-1F as a camera for those who want an edge for their content creation and would probably be using a smartphone otherwise. It improves on its Exmor RS 1.0-type predecessor in that it has a new stock lens with an improved wide-angle perspective and easy bokeh. The ZV-1F also packs a number of vlog-friendly features such as Shot Mark, Active Mode image stabilization and Product Showcase.

Garmin has introduced new Marq series smartwatches. Billed as the Marq Gen 2, the series starts with the US$1,900 Athlete edition and rises to US$2,400 for the Aviator. All models promise better battery life than their predecessors, as well as faster charging and AMOLED displays.

The new Honor X40 GT may indeed have the gaming chops for which it was hyped at its launch today (October 13, 2022), as it is powered by the still-powerful Snapdragon 888 SoC for 2021 flagship Android smartphones. It has been joined at this launch by the Play 6C, a new, even more affordable, 5G device that counts a decent display refresh rate and a large battery among its best attributes.

Hardkernel has announced the ODROID-H3 and ODROID-H3+, a pair of single-board computers powered by 10 nm Intel processors. Available from US$129, the ODROID-H3 series supports PCI3 Gen 3 SSDs and has plenty of I/O, among other features.

Suunto has brought the 9 Peak Pro to market, months after the smartwatch first leaked via retailers. Available in multiple variants, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro features better battery life than the regular Suunto 9 Peak, among other changes.

MSI has expanded its gaming monitor offering with the G322C, a 32-inch example that runs at 1080p. Equipped with a VA panel, the MSI G322C has a 1000R curvature, as well as a 170 Hz refresh rate and fast response times, among other features.

MINISFORUM has announced that the least expensive version of its 'Venus' (or UMxx0) mini PCs is now shipping to Europe. The Ryzen 7 4800U-powered compact desktop can support triple 4K monitors, has dual USB type C ports, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. It starts at just under US$330, albeit without RAM or memory included.

Acer has introduced the Chromebook 516 GE, another Chromebook intended to be used for cloud gaming. Equipped with a 120 Hz display, the Chromebook 516 GE is also available with up to a Core i7-1260P, 16 GB of RAM and a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard.

Microsoft has presented the Surface Laptop 5 series, which will be familiar to those who own a Surface Laptop 3 or Surface Laptop 4 series model. Now available with only Intel processors, the Surface Laptop 5 series launches with other minor upgrades from US$999.99 for the 13.5-inch model and US$1,299.99 if you are after the larger 15-inch variant.

The Formovie THEATER is now available outside the US, having launched there last month. Equipped with three HDMI 2.1 ports and a triple laser light source that delivers up to 2,800 ANSI Lumens of brightness, the Formovie THEATER can create 150-inch images with a throw ratio of just 0.23:1.

Microsoft has presented the Surface Pro 9, a new take on the Surface Pro series. Equipped with either the Core i5-1235U or the Core i7-1255U, the Surface Pro 9 is available in four colours, up to 1 TB of storage and 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Prices start at US$999, while pre-orders will begin shipping from October 25 in the US.

Huawei is now selling the Watch D in Europe, its premium smartwatch that can take ECGs and measure blood pressure levels via a built-in blood pressure cuff. Also equipped with a large AMOLED display, the Watch D will soon be available in the UK for £349.99 too.

Qualcomm has formally introduced the chipset found in the new Meta Quest Pro headset as the Snapdragon XR2 Plus (or XR2+) Gen 1 platform. It is rated for potentially significant gains in thermal management and performance compared to its immediate predecessor, and has been confirmed to arrive in the form of upcoming headsets from different OEMs soon.

Dell has launched a new rugged tablet for use in extreme environments. Key Latitude 7230 Rugged Extreme specs include a 12-inch screen, two hot-swappable 36.5 Wh batteries, Intel Alder Lake processors and two configurable ports.
