AOOSTAR launches new gaming mini PC with AMD Ryzen 9 and discrete desktop Radeon RX 6600 LE GPU

The AMD Radeon RX 6600 LE seems to be gaining more popularity among Chinese manufacturers. It is basically the same GPU as the non-LE version but with a slightly higher boost clock. The graphics card first made its appearance on a Chinese Lenovo desktop, but now, AOOSTAR has packed it inside its new gaming mini PC.

AOOSTAR paired the Radeon RX 6600 LE with AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. While that’s a mobile processor, it’s on the higher end, which means that the gaming performance from the mini PC should be good.

Worth noting that the RX 6600 LE on this mini PC is reportedly locked to 100W TGP. To compare, on desktops, the GPU can reach 132W, which means the performance won’t be comparable. The good part is that the graphics card has the same specs, which include 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, 1792 cores, and a PCIe Gen 4x8 interface.

Competing mini PC models like the Minisforum HX99G (available on Amazon) came equipped with the RX 6600M, which is the mobile version of the GPU. Although it shares the same specs as the desktop version, the clock speed is lower, coming in at 2177 MHz instead of 2495 MHz.

Other than that, the new AOOSTAR mini PC, called “Youyan,” has a generous number of ports. Among all are three USB 3.1 Gen2x3, one USB 3.1 Gen1x1, one USB4, two Ethernet, one HDMI, and one DisplayPort. It also appears to have a robust cooling setup, which should allow the processor and GPU to deliver a stable performance under load.

As for the price, the barebone version of the mini PC is on pre-sale with a CNY 3,399 tag (about $470). Pricing and availability details for the global markets are yet to be revealed, but AOOSTAR does release most of its products outside China.
