The latest mid-range smartphone from Oppo has a modern design with a flat frame, relatively slim screen edges, a pill-shaped camera module, and an eye-catching green version. This not only makes the device look more stylish than many similarly priced competitors, but the features are also impressive considering the price.
Oppo has installed a 6.67-inch, 120 Hz OLED panel that achieves a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a peak brightness of 2,100 nits, even if "only" 1,200 nits are possible in full-screen HBM mode. The battery has an above-average capacity of 5,500 mAh and can be charged via USB-C with up to 80 watts. The device has 256 GB to 512 GB of flash memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card.
The 16 MP selfie camera sits in a central punch-hole, while the rear houses the 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP sensor. Oppo saves a little on the processor and installs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G from 2021, which has two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 1.7 GHz. The 191-gram smartphone comes with Android 14. Oppo has not confirmed how long the Oppo K12x will be supplied with Android updates and security patches.
