Motorola releases new mid-range smartphone with integrated stylus and 120 Hz pOLED display
Motorola has now unveiled a 2024 version of the Moto G Stylus, roughly four months after @OnLeaks provided a first look at the Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 successor (curr. $249.99 on Amazon). As expected, the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 adopts the design language of other recent Moto G smartphones, such as the Moto G04s and Moto G24, while maintaining the built-in stylus of previous Moto G Stylus models.
Surprisingly, the new model retains its predecessor's Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, a 4 nm chipset that Qualcomm announced in 2022. However, Motorola has replaced the IPS panel it used in last year's model with a pOLED alternative that should deliver various refinements, including improved colour accuracy. Measuring 6.7-inches across, the pOLED display also outputs at 1080p (2,400 x 1,080) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness.

Moreover, the display hides an optical fingerprint scanner, as well as a 32 MP front-facing camera. As usual for a Moto G device, Motorola installs a 50 MP primary camera (f/1.8) with optical image stabilisation (OIS), which it complements with a 13 MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor. Meanwhile, a 5,000 mAh battery rounds off proceedings, which the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 can recharge at 15 W wirelessly or 30 W with a wired connection.
Typically, Motorola only sells the Moto G Stylus in North America, just like the Moto G 5G (2024). Correspondingly, Motorola does not mention availability outside this region in its press release. Instead, it states that the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 will be available in North America starting May 30, adding that it will retail for $399.99 in the US and CAD$499.99 in Canada.
