The AMD Strix Point Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 has surfaced on Geekbench courtesy of recently unveiled Asus TUF Gaming A14 and ProArt P16 laptops and first performance numbers seem quite impressive and in line with what we've seen in Zen 4 Dragon Range HX APUs. We also get to see the new RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 890M posting OpenCL numbers exceeding those of a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q.

A new report says AMD's Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs could arrive later this year. AMD plans to announce them in September, around when Intel's Arrow Lake chips are slated to debut.

AMD has introduced new Strix Point processors that are weirdly in the Ryzen AI 300 series, skipping 100 and 200. Previous rumors suggested that the APUs would launch as Ryzen AI 100 series instead. Now, a prototype laptop from Computex has confirmed that the company has made a last-minute name change.

Asus is launching an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Strix Point Zen 5 powered ProArt P16 at Computex 2024. The new ProArt P16 is a Copilot+ PC focused on AI workflows with 50 TOPS performance from the AMD Ryzen AI 300 NPU alone while continuing to offer ProArt goodies such as the 4K OLED touchscreen and an Asus DialPad built into the touchpad.

ASUS has now updated the 2024 Vivobook S 14 (M5406), S 15 (M5506), and S 16 (M5606) laptops with the latest AMD Ryzen AI processors. Previously, the laptops topped out at the Ryzen 9 8945HS. AMD has unveiled its next generation of laptop processors, complete with a new naming scheme. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 390 and Ryzen AI 9 365 come with AMD's new Zen 5 CPU cores and a Radeon 800M series iGPU based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture.

AMD has a last-minute rename planned for its Strix Point laptop processors. The flagship-out SKU could be called the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Its non-HX counterpart might go by Ryzen AI 9 365.

An early Vivobook S16 listing on Asus' website confirms AMD plans to change its CPUs naming schemes soon. The next-gen Zen 5-based CPU powering the laptop is called the Ryzen AI 9 HX 170.

AMD Strix Halo APUs could be available in a range of configurations. From a Strix Halo SKU that rivals the RTX 4070 laptop down to a low-end product with RTX 3050 levels of performance, AMD apparently presented OEMs with four options with up to 16 Zen 5 cores and 40 CUs.

After revealing surprisingly strong data center sales in the first quarter, AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, also mentioned that the first Epyc Turin and Ryzen Strix samples are already reaching the company's partners. These Zen 5-based processors are expected to launch in the second half of 2024.

Zen 5 and RDNA 3.5-based AMD Strix and Strix Halo APUs are on their way with the promise of massive performance gains. Now, a leaked official AMD document has apparently detailed specifications of Strix Point and Strix Halo products with the latter enjoying more than 3 times the Compute Units of the Radeon 780M.

The upcoming AMD Strix Point APUs are shaping up to be nice upgrades over the current crop of Hawk Point and Phoenix APUs with their Zen 5 CPU and RDNA 3.5 iGPU. The top-end 12-core part has just made a pit stop at Geekbench, resulting in rather high single-core and multi-core scores for an engineering sample.

AMD is reportedly releasing the Ryzen 9000 CPUs based on the Zen 5 architecture between April and June with potentially up to a 40% IPC uplift over Zen 4. According to the latest leak out of @All_The_Watts on Twitter, Zen 5 delivers, among other things, a 38% IPC improvement in Metro Exodus, meaning the Ryzen 9000 chips could be gaming beasts.

AMD has revealed two new AM5 CPUs with interesting names at a recent event in China. The Ryzen 7 8700F and Ryzen 5 8400F appear to be desktop Hawk Point chips with their iGPUs disabled.

Other highlights for this configuration include a 5 MP webcam with IR sensor, fingerprint reader integrated in the power button, 2x USB4 ports and a total weight of only 2.51 lbs.

The new Zen 5 desktop processors will also bring updated chipsets, but motherboards might actually come later. X3D models could launch at the same time, but some sources believe they could be delayed to launch in response to Intel's Arrow Lake-S in Q4.

The two upcoming mobile lineups with Zen 5 cores appearing in the ROCm code also means that AMD will soon enable compute processing support for its iGPU models. However, this might only apply to RDNA 3.5 models and up.
