GMK Evo-X1: Minisforum EliteMini AI370 competitor with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 becomes available to pre-order

The Evo-X1 is now available to pre-order. GMKtec teased it back in October, and it was planned to go on sale at the end of November. However, it seems that the initial plans didn't pan out well, but the mini PC is still among the first to feature the Ryzen 9 AI HX 370.

This new Zen 5 mini PC starts at $920 with the pre-order discount in place and goes up to $970. Note that to pre-order the Evo-X1 at these discounted tags, you will need to use the EVOX1EB30 coupon code during checkout. It's unclear how long this coupon code will stay active, and GMKtec didn't share when the regular sale will begin either.

As for the mini PC itself, the GMK Evo-X1 has one big advantage over some of the other options with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. It has an OCuLink port, something that's missing on the Minisforum EliteMini AI370 and Beelink SER9. This makes GMKtec's offering a better pick for an eGPU setup.

Of course, thanks to the Radeon 890M iGPU, the mini PC can smoothly handle most of the AAA games with decent visual settings. So, you won't really need an eGPU if you don't plan to play on a monitor with a higher resolution than 1080p (Acer Nitro KG241Y curr. $94.99 on Amazon).

Besides the OCuLink port, the GMK Evo-X1 comes with a USB4, two Ethernet, one HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 2.1, and four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports. As for wireless connectivity, this Zen 5 mini PC has Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6. Other highlights include up to 65W TDP, two M.2 slots with support for up to 4TB storage, and a sleek design.
