Framework has upgraded its iconic Framework Laptop 13 with AMD's newest Ryzen AI 300 chips. It also comes with a new keyboard, Honeywell PTM7958 thermal material and supports up to 96 GB of RAM.

Alongside its Framework Desktop, the Framework Laptop 13 has been refreshed with next-gen hardware from AMD. And no, it isn't Strix Halo. That's reserved for desktops only. But you get the next best thing here: Strix Point. This time, you can go all the way up to a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 - the best Strix Point has to offer.

The Framework Laptop 13 also gets some other quality-of-life upgrades, such as Wi-Fi 7, new Honeywell PTM7958 thermal compound, a second-gen keyboard with new keys (1.5 mm travel time), and a Co-Pilot key for versions that come with Windows. Or you could print the logo of your favourite Linux Distro if it suits you.

Other Framework Laptop 13 have remained the same. For example, DDR5-5600 RAM remains the same, but now, you can have 96 GB of it. You can pair it with 8 TB of storage via the M.2 NVMe slot. That doesn't mean there aren't any under-the-hood updates. All four modules can now output display, meaning you can slap in 4 USB-C/HDMI ports and output a signal to four displays at the same time.

The Framework Laptop 13 is also more affordable than last time. Its entry-level variant starts at $749, but that'll only get you a last-gen AMD Ryzen 7040 model. For Strix Point (Ryzen AI 300), you'll need to fork out at least $899 for the whole laptop, complete with a 2.8K 120 Hz 3:2 display. Or, you could just get a motherboard for $499 and upgrade your old Framework Laptop 13. Pre-orders start now and shipping will commence soon.
